Immunomatics, Inc., a San Marcos, California-based healthtech company developing artificial intelligence tools for transplant donor-recipient risk assessment, announced a US$100,000 strategic investment from Myosotis Investments B.V. on October 7, 2026. Myosotis is a Netherlands-based life sciences investment firm founded by biotech entrepreneur Wietse Mulder, PhD. In addition to the investment, Mulder has joined the company as Strategic Advisor, bringing significant expertise in HLA and transplantation diagnostics.

Strategic Investment and Advisory Appointment

Wietse Mulder co-founded GenDx, a global leader in transplant diagnostics that was acquired by Eurobio Scientific in 2022. His investment firm, Myosotis Investments, brings both capital and deep life sciences expertise to Immunomatics at a formative stage of development. As Strategic Advisor, Mulder will guide the company as it validates its technology and prepares for commercialization in transplant medicine.

Immunomatics leadership described the investment and advisory role as a meaningful validation of its approach to transplant medicine. Mulder spent nearly two decades building a globally recognized company in HLA and transplant diagnostics, gaining deep insight into clinical and commercial requirements. His experience is expected to help the company move efficiently from research validation to market readiness.

Mulder has said that Immunomatics is addressing an important challenge in transplantation: making better use of increasingly complex biological and clinical information when assessing donor-recipient compatibility. He believes there is a significant opportunity to develop better predictive tools that can support transplant medicine. His decision to invest and serve as an advisor reflects confidence in the company's computational and scientific direction.

Developing AI Beyond HLA Mismatch Counting

Immunomatics is developing AI tools that assess donor-recipient compatibility beyond simply counting HLA mismatches. The company combines outcomes data, HLA typing, and machine learning to better estimate donor-recipient risks and support transplant teams in clinical decision making. This approach is intended to provide more nuanced, predictive, and actionable risk assessment than traditional mismatch counting alone.

Founder Lidio Meireles, PhD, started the company after facing donor-selection uncertainty as a blood stem cell recipient. He brings a rare and valuable combination of computational biology expertise, scientific understanding, and firsthand transplant experience. That personal and professional background shaped Immunomatics' focus on giving transplant teams more predictive, data-driven tools for choosing the lowest-risk donor.

Funding, Research, and Regulatory Momentum

The company has received a US$207,740 National Institutes of Health Small Business Innovation Research Phase I award to advance its core technology and validation efforts. Immunomatics is also collaborating with the UC San Diego Transplantation Lab to strengthen its clinical and scientific foundations. Current priorities include expanding clinical data, validating predictive models, advancing regulatory strategy, and preparing the technology for future clinical use.

The Myosotis investment and Mulder's appointment add to Immunomatics' growing momentum as the company raises capital for technology validation and commercialization. Immunomatics is also conducting an equity crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder, offering individual investors an opportunity to invest in the company's development. This two-track funding approach reflects both institutional confidence and broader community interest in transplant innovation.

With strategic backing from an experienced transplant diagnostics leader, Immunomatics is strengthening its position in the emerging field of AI-enabled transplant risk assessment. The combination of NIH support, academic collaboration, and new advisory guidance provides a foundation for the company's next development phase. Immunomatics aims to give transplant teams better tools for evaluating donor-recipient risk, supporting clinical choices, and improving patient outcomes.
