HighPost Capital has announced the formation of HighPost Aerospace, Defense, and Cybersecurity, a dedicated investment vertical focused on national security markets. The new platform will pursue middle-market buyouts and late-stage investments in companies serving aerospace, defense, cybersecurity, and government missions. The move extends HighPost's investment approach into sectors shaped by significant public funding and long-term demand.
A Purpose-Built National Security Platform
The initiative formalizes HighPost's entry into national security markets with a team of seasoned investment professionals and operators. The firm said the vertical will invest in high-quality businesses that support aerospace, defense, cybersecurity, and government missions. It will also evaluate select opportunities across the broader aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity sectors, including larger companies.
Leadership with Government and Investment Experience
David Walsh, a former U.S. Navy intelligence officer and previous managing partner at FON Advisors, will lead the newly formed vertical. In this role, he will be responsible for investment origination, execution, and portfolio operations across the platform's target sectors. Walsh also founded Prescient Edge, an intelligence services company, which adds direct operating experience to his investment background.
An Experienced Team and Advisory Bench
HighPost has assembled additional talent including Matthew Bluhm, former chief executive officer of Decon7 Systems, and John Rompon, former co-founder and managing partner of McNally Capital. The advisory group also features former U.S. Senator Richard Burr, former chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and Thomas P. Feddo, former assistant secretary of the Treasury for investment security. Their combined experience spans intelligence, national security, and critical infrastructure.
Investing Against Strong Market Tailwinds
The launch follows several major public financial commitments to national security worldwide. In the United States, Congress has appropriated nearly one trillion dollars for national defense purposes since July 2025. NATO allies have also committed to invest five percent of GDP annually in defense and related security by 2035, reinforcing long-term demand.
Target Profile and Investment Strategy
HighPost intends to pursue middle-market buyouts and late-stage investments in fast-growing companies that address evolving national security needs. The firm will evaluate opportunities across aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity, including larger companies where the market offers attractive entry points. The team plans to focus on founder-led businesses that have deep mission alignment but limited access to long-term institutional capital.
Strategic Backing and Vision
HighPost founder and chief executive David Moross described the launch as a significant milestone in building a premier multi-vertical alternative investments platform. He said the Bezos family's deep sector knowledge brings significant relationships, operating experience, and judgment to the market. Moross also highlighted Azimut Group's capital commitment and global reach as part of the foundation for the new vertical.
About HighPost Capital
HighPost Capital is a private investment firm focused on visionary companies across consumer behavior, services, sports, media, technology, and aerospace sectors. It was founded by chief executive David Moross and marketing innovator Mark Bezos to create long-term value for portfolio companies. The firm is part of Azimut Group, a global asset management company serving individuals, corporations, and institutions.
HighPost's new vertical positions the firm to support founder-led businesses that are critical to national security but often underserved by institutional capital. With strong public spending tailwinds, the platform is entering a market that demands long-term and mission-aware partners.
