HeyMilo has announced the launch of HeyMilo Red, a standalone cheat detection and proctoring layer for remote interviews. The technology was originally created as part of HeyMilo's AI recruiting platform, where it identifies candidate impersonation, AI-assisted answers, outside coaching, and other forms of interview fraud. The company decided to offer it independently after receiving demand from organizations that wanted integrity tools without replacing their existing recruiting systems.

What HeyMilo Red Detects

HeyMilo Red scans existing interview recordings across video, audio, and transcript data. The system can flag deepfakes and face swaps, proxy interviewing, AI-generated or scripted answers, whispered coaching, second screens, off-camera reading, and additional people in the room. Each detection is tied to specific moments in the recording rather than presented as a generic risk score.

Evidence and Confidence Scoring

Each finding generated by Red includes a precise time window, a confidence score, and supporting evidence tied to the recording. This structure allows hiring teams to review exactly what triggered the system before making a final decision. The platform is designed to provide context that supports human judgment instead of replacing it.

A Multimodal Detection System

HeyMilo Red was built as a proprietary multimodal detection system rather than a tool that relies on a single general-purpose AI model. Multiple signals are analyzed on the same timeline and corroborated before they become findings. This approach is intended to reduce false positives while giving reviewers more useful and reliable evidence.

Integration Through API and Webhooks

Companies can upload recordings directly or send video URLs programmatically using the Red API. Results can be returned through the console, signed webhooks, or structured JSON to fit a range of technical workflows. This allows engineering teams to add interview integrity checks to an applicant tracking system, assessment platform, interviewing product, or internal hiring system.

Designed for Existing Workflows

HeyMilo emphasized that users do not need to move their interviews into another platform to add proctoring. According to the company, if an interview is already being recorded, Red can operate behind the existing workflow. This positioning responds to teams that already use tools such as Zoom and applicant tracking systems and want to preserve their current processes.

Beyond Recruiting and Proctor Bench

While recruiting is the first use case, HeyMilo is also developing Red for other recorded conversations where identity and authenticity matter. These areas include certification processes, compliance reviews, and sales calls. The company is also preparing Proctor Bench, a benchmark designed to measure cheat-detection accuracy and false-positive rates across Red and leading frontier AI models.

Availability and Company Background

HeyMilo Red is available now, and interested companies and developers can learn more and start scanning recordings at heymilo.ai/red. HeyMilo builds AI recruiting infrastructure for organizations hiring at volume, with AI agents that screen, interview, and evaluate candidates across voice, video, SMS, and other channels. The company is headquartered in New York and operates with a globally distributed team.

Remote hiring fraud has become a growing concern as interviews move online and AI tools become more sophisticated. With HeyMilo Red, the company is offering a standalone integrity layer that can work alongside existing recruiting technologies rather than requiring a full platform migration. The launch gives hiring teams a practical way to add identity and answer verification to their current processes while preserving their established workflows.
