Construction technology startup Hardline has successfully raised $2 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Mucker Capital. The company aims to solve costly communication failures by converting job site phone calls and verbal conversations into structured, actionable data. This investment will fuel its mission to streamline documentation and reduce rework in the multi-billion dollar construction industry.

Tackling a Multi-Billion Dollar Problem

The construction sector loses an estimated $31 billion annually to rework caused by miscommunication and poor documentation. Hardline directly confronts this issue by capturing critical information exchanged in phone calls and on-site discussions, which often fails to reach official records. This voice-first approach targets a previously untapped layer of project intelligence to prevent costly errors and delays.

Seamless Integration and Functionality

Hardline's platform automatically transforms verbal data into essential project documents, including RFIs, punch lists, and daily logs. It integrates directly with widely used management software such as Procore, Autodesk Forma, and Hilti’s Fieldwire, ensuring a seamless workflow. By supporting both English and Spanish, the technology is accessible to diverse field teams without requiring new habits or extensive training.

Visionary Leadership and Technical Expertise

The company is led by co-founders Alena Tuttle and Karly Heffernan, a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree with deep industry roots. Their vision is to eliminate the administrative burden on field personnel by capturing data at the source, rather than through after-the-fact manual entry. To execute this, the company has appointed former Klarity AI engineer Kimball Hill as CTO to build out its advanced VoiceOps infrastructure.

Strong Investor Backing and Market Validation

The funding round attracted notable investors like StandUp Ventures and Suffolk Technologies, who praised the founders' industry knowledge and the solution's non-disruptive fit. Hardline has already achieved significant market validation, with its platform deployed across ten states and two countries for various contractors. The startup was also selected for the prestigious Suffolk Technologies BOOST Accelerator, confirming the market's need for its tool.

Strategic Use of Funds and Future Growth

With the new capital, Hardline plans to accelerate product development, deepen its software integrations, and expand its market presence within the SMB construction sector. The company aims to scale its core telephony infrastructure, creating a competitive advantage in the construction tech space. This strategic investment positions Hardline to capitalize on the immense opportunity within voice-based project management and documentation.

This $2 million pre-seed investment marks a pivotal moment for Hardline as it scales its innovative solution for the construction industry. By making the voice layer of a job site legible and actionable, the company is poised to significantly reduce costly errors and improve operational efficiency. Hardline's focused approach on seamless, voice-driven documentation represents a promising step forward in modernizing construction workflows.
