Hadrian, an agentic AI offensive security platform based in Amsterdam, announced on October 6, 2026, that it has secured US$40 million in new funding. The round was co-led by Forgepoint Capital International and SmartFin, with participation from HV Capital, Motive Partners, Picus Capital, and Oetker Ventures. The investment brings the company's total funding to US$65 million and will support expansion across EMEA and the United States.

Funding and Strategic Expansion

The new capital will be used to deepen Hadrian's engineering and research capabilities while scaling its commercial presence in Europe and North America. Existing investors including HV Capital, Motive Partners, Picus Capital, and Oetker Ventures joined the round, signaling continued confidence in the company's approach. Hadrian plans to use the funding to strengthen its position as a global offensive security platform.

Responding to AI-Driven Threats

The announcement comes amid rising concern about AI-powered cyberattacks. Recent disclosures, including from Anthropic, show that criminals and state-linked groups have used AI models to automate attack chains and develop zero-day exploits. At the same time, many security teams still rely on manual penetration testing, with data indicating that 87% of organizations continue to use periodic manual assessments.

Security teams are also overwhelmed by noise. More than 70% struggle to identify which exposures are genuinely exploitable, and only 0.47% of vulnerability scanner findings prove to be real threats. That means 99.5% of alerts require no action, making it difficult to prioritize meaningful risks. Hadrian aims to solve this by helping businesses see their security posture through a hacker's perspective.

Platform Capabilities and Customer Outcomes

Hadrian combines continuous exposure management with agentic penetration testing in a single platform. Atlas continuously maps an organization's external attack surface and uses AI agents to confirm which exposures are exploitable, while Nova delivers on-demand penetration testing at a human level and beyond. Because both capabilities share context, security teams can move from visibility to deeper testing without starting over.

Customers using the platform have reported 10 times greater visibility into critical exposures, 80% faster time to resolution, and 5 times the return on investment compared with manual penetration testing. Hadrian serves large enterprises across the United States and Europe, including McKesson, NBC Universal, Francisco Partners, Total Energies, Amadeus, Leroy Merlin, and Damen Shipyard. The company says the platform enables humans to set the mission and make key decisions while AI handles repetitive work at machine speed.

Investor and Customer Confidence

Forgepoint Capital International Managing Director and Partner Damien Henault said that security teams need tools that help them see clearly and think like AI-armed hackers. SmartFin Partner Saumitra Dubey noted that Hadrian's growing enterprise contracts, global customer base, and retention rates demonstrate its ability to compete with large cybersecurity incumbents. He added that the funding arrives at a pivotal moment for the company's next phase of growth.

Customer leaders also expressed support. Leroy Merlin Digital Solutions Leader Alessio Setaro said Hadrian helps the retailer find exposed assets and test them the way an attacker would. Damen Shipyards CISO Hans Quivooij explained that the platform gives his global organization continuous visibility into what attackers can see and exploit, replacing periodic assessments with focused risk management.

Hadrian's new funding round highlights growing investor interest in AI-native offensive security solutions as organizations face faster and more automated attacks. The company was founded by Rogier Fischer, Olivier Beg, and Maurice Clin, who built the platform to deliver continuous, scalable offensive security without removing human judgment. With expanding enterprise adoption and a refreshed balance sheet, Hadrian is positioned to strengthen its presence across Europe and the United States.
