Growth equity investment firm FTV Capital has announced the promotion of Adam Hallquist to partner after a distinguished decade with the company. In his new capacity, Hallquist will lead investments for FTV Ascend, the firm's strategy focused on vertical software, payments, and financial technology. This appointment highlights the firm’s commitment to cultivating internal talent and reinforcing its leadership in key high-growth sectors.

A Decade of Proven Expertise

Since joining FTV in 2014, Hallquist has established an extensive track record in sourcing, executing, and supporting key investments. His deep expertise has been instrumental in expanding the firm's franchise within the vertical software and financial technology domains. This long-standing dedication and consistent success have culminated in his well-deserved promotion to the firm's partnership.

Hallquist’s influence is evident through his active board roles at companies such as ConnexPay, Docupace, JustPark, and ProfitSolv. He also played a crucial part in several successfully exited investments, including Finaro, Riskalyze, and VPay. His prior experience as an investment banking analyst at Financial Technology Partners provided a strong foundation for his career.

Spearheading the FTV Ascend Strategy

As a partner, Hallquist will be pivotal in scaling the FTV Ascend strategy, which targets smaller growth equity opportunities. This initiative allows for flexible investment structures, including both control and minority stakes in promising companies. The strategy is designed to capture value in emerging businesses within FTV’s established areas of sector expertise.

The inaugural FTV Ascend I fund was launched with $651 million in capital commitments as part of a larger record fundraise. To date, the fund has already made three strategic investments in 360 Privacy, Saphyre, and Validus. This demonstrates the firm's active deployment of capital and confidence in its focused investment approach for smaller, high-potential companies.

Firm-Wide Talent Advancement

Brad Bernstein, managing partner at FTV Capital, praised Hallquist as a thoughtful investor and a trusted partner to founders. He highlighted Hallquist's deep domain expertise and disciplined judgment as key factors in strengthening the firm's investment platform. The firm looks forward to his continued positive impact in this expanded leadership role.

Alongside Hallquist's promotion, FTV Capital announced advancements across its investment team to bolster its sector coverage. Sam Kider, Lisa Latrèche, and Payam Vadi were all promoted to senior vice president. Additionally, Brandon Nestor, Brian Papsin, and Adrian Radzyminski were elevated to the position of vice president across various teams.

The firm also recognized key contributors on its operational and value-creation teams, reflecting a holistic approach to growth. Padget Luetgerath was promoted to senior vice president within the FTV Propel® team. Further promotions included Rashid Sultan to vice president of IT, Casey Greenbaum to senior associate, and Shannon Hanney to associate.

These comprehensive promotions signal a period of strategic reinforcement and internal recognition at FTV Capital. By elevating seasoned professionals like Adam Hallquist and acknowledging talent across the organization, the firm is solidifying its leadership foundation. This move positions FTV to effectively deploy capital and drive significant value within its portfolio companies for the foreseeable future.
