Flam, a San Francisco-based AI interactive content company, has raised $40 million in Series B funding to scale its enterprise platform. The round was led by QED Investors and includes backing from a group of prominent technology and finance investors. The company has signed more than 100 enterprise customers in six quarters, including Google, State Farm, and Diageo.
Funding Details and Strategic Use of Capital
QED Investors led the Series B financing for Flam, with Claypond Capital, Martin Chavez, Olivier Pomel, Venky Harinarayan, and Shahrukh Khan joining as new investors. Existing investors RTP Global and Dovetail also increased their commitments in the round. Flam intends to use the $40 million to advance research and development on its AI models, expand its product suite, and scale enterprise sales globally.
Enterprise Momentum and Content Shift
Flam has signed more than 100 enterprise customers during its first six quarters of commercial availability. Clients such as Google, State Farm, and Diageo use the platform for marketing, product visualization, learning and development, entertainment, fan engagement, customer support, and sales. Founder Shourya Agarwal said interactive experiences represent the next default for the internet after text, images, and video.
Interactive Video and 3D Streaming Formats
Flam ships three core formats and holds more than 15 patents in interactive content technology. Flicks are interactive videos that can switch person, product, or scene mid-playback, using a patented compression algorithm and delivering content programmatically with a 50-millisecond time-to-first-buffer. Airboards provide high-fidelity 3D content on a camera interface with touch, voice interactions, and haptic feedback, loading in 300 milliseconds without an installed app.
Visual Agents and AI Infrastructure
Visual Agents are human-like characters that hold conversations and take agentic actions through a video call experience rather than a traditional chat window. Flam's Fantom model handles facial expression through identity preservation and motion transfer, while Finesse manages voice in any language. Falcon, a 26-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts large language model, delivers responses at 30 milliseconds time-to-first-token with the full pipeline returning an answer in under two seconds.
Business Applications Across Functions
Flam's formats are used by global organizations for a wide range of business functions. Marketing teams deploy interactive videos to increase engagement, while sales and support teams use visual agents to guide customers through product journeys. The company's technology is designed to make these experiences accessible at enterprise scale without requiring specialized hardware or app installations.
Investor Perspectives on the Market Opportunity
QED Investors Co-Founder and Managing Partner Nigel Morris said most frontier AI content companies optimize what already exists, while Flam is focused on how much of the content ecosystem remains untouched. QED Partner Sandeep Patil noted that Flam's traction, AI research pace, and partner adoption signal its potential to become a new platform winner. The investors described the gap in interactive content as larger than most people think.
