EVERSION Technologies Raises €2.3 Million for Smart Insoles

German medtech startup will scale its personalized, data-driven insole platform.

German medtech startup EVERSION Technologies has raised €2.3 million in a Seed II financing round to expand its data-driven approach to identifying and correcting harmful foot-loading patterns. The round was led by Kammerer Holding and the Chancenkapitalfonds of Kreissparkasse Biberach, with participation from additional venture funds, family offices, existing investors, and business angels. Based in Konstanz, the company plans to use the capital to accelerate sales, marketing, and partnerships with physicians, therapists, and orthopedic supply providers.


Addressing an Overlooked Source of Pain

EVERSION was created around the view that shoes can contribute to incorrect loading of the foot, with effects that may extend to the knees, hips, and back. The company argues that many conventional approaches focus on symptoms or static foot impressions without sufficiently examining how a person moves under everyday conditions. Its system is designed to capture those real-world movement patterns and use the resulting data to produce a more individualized intervention.

How the Technology Works

Customers wear sensor-equipped insoles and use a companion application for approximately two weeks, allowing EVERSION to record movement behavior and loading patterns during daily activities. The collected information is converted into a three-dimensional biomechanical model that helps identify the user’s individual alignment and pressure profile inside the shoe. EVERSION then produces a customized “0° sole” whose lower layer is intended to correct improper loading while its upper layer allows the foot to move more naturally.

Commercial Progress and Reimbursement

Since its earlier seed financing in January 2025, EVERSION has completed key steps including CE certification as a medical device, product launch, and the establishment of reimbursement pathways in Germany. The company says statutory health insurers cover the solution through an approved prevention-course framework, while privately insured patients may seek reimbursement with an appropriate prescription. More than 1,500 customers have already used the product, giving the startup an early commercial base as it prepares for wider distribution.

Investors Back Further Expansion

Alongside Kammerer Holding and Kreissparkasse Biberach’s venture capital fund, the round included backing from Start-up BW Seed Fonds, S-Kap Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft, Meerkat, Turtle, and several angel networks. The financing reflects investor support for EVERSION’s combination of sensor-based assessment, personalized medical products, and a direct-to-consumer route complemented by clinical referrals. The company will now focus on expanding its partner network and increasing awareness of the relationship between footwear, movement patterns, and musculoskeletal discomfort.

A Multidisciplinary Founding Team

EVERSION’s founding team includes Chief Executive Julia Zimmermann, orthopedic master shoemaker Wolfgang Triebstein, Timon Sutter, Maximilian Starkmann, and Lucas Heitele. Their backgrounds span engineering, computer science, orthopedic shoemaking, and sports science, giving the company a mix of technical, clinical, and product-development expertise. Zimmermann’s experience with hip pain helped shape the business, while Triebstein’s long-standing work on footwear-related misalignment provided the technical foundation for the company’s approach.


The €2.3 million Seed II round gives EVERSION additional resources to move from early market validation toward broader commercial adoption in Germany. Its next challenge will be proving that personalized gait data and reimbursable corrective insoles can support repeatable growth beyond the company’s initial customer base. By strengthening clinical partnerships and scaling distribution, EVERSION aims to position its technology as a preventive option for people whose pain may be linked to how their shoes affect everyday movement.
