Equitable Earth has raised $14.7 million in a new funding round to accelerate the certification of nature-based climate solutions. The round was led by a US-based family office and supported by existing investors including AENU, noa, and Localglobe. This brings the company’s total funding to over $29 million, enabling it to expand its certification program and invest in advanced technology, data, and methodologies.

Establishing Market Leadership

Over the past five years, Equitable Earth has become one of the fastest-growing and most innovative providers of certification for nature-based carbon projects. Its programs have been recognized as eligible under the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market’s Core Carbon Principles, the highest benchmark for quality. Independent agency Sylvera has cited its Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR) methodology as rigorous and trustworthy, with its new REDD+ methodology expected to achieve similar recognition.

A New Model for Speed, Trust, and Equity

Nature-based solutions are among the most immediate and cost-effective ways to address climate change. Scaling these solutions requires approaches that are transparent, trusted, and efficient to ensure finance reaches ecosystems quickly. Equitable Earth’s model addresses this challenge through a combination of technology, standardized processes, and measurable outcomes.

Its fully digital certification platform streamlines the project journey, reducing costs and delays for developers. Centralized carbon accounting and in-house risk modeling ensure consistency, transparency, and reduced conflicts of interest. Advanced remote sensing technology provides rigorous monitoring, reporting, and clear measurement of uncertainty across projects.

Core Principles of Certification

Equitable Earth emphasizes measurable benefits for climate, nature, and local communities, rather than focusing on ancillary outcomes. Projects are assessed on ecological condition, carbon impact, and livelihoods to ensure interconnected and meaningful results. The company also prioritizes deep engagement with Indigenous Peoples and local communities, establishing clear standards for participation, protection, and equitable benefit sharing.

Statements from Leadership

CEO Thibault Sorret highlighted the company’s mission, saying the funding will help Equitable Earth grow and establish itself as the global standard for nature-based projects. Arjun Jairaj from noa added that carbon markets need scalable, reliable projects that deliver real climate, ecological, and social outcomes. He noted that this investment strengthens Equitable Earth’s position as a market leader in high-integrity certification.

Deployment of Funding

The new capital will enhance the company’s technology and digital platform, investing in data systems, modeling, and user-centric tools. Equitable Earth will also expand its team, hiring talent across research, engineering, commercial, and certification functions to maintain speed and responsiveness. Additionally, the company plans to certify millions more hectares and extend its methodologies to cover additional threatened ecosystems.

Equitable Earth’s latest funding demonstrates growing investor confidence in nature-based solutions with high integrity and transparency. By combining technological innovation, rigorous standards, and community engagement, it aims to set a global benchmark for carbon project certification. The investment positions the company to scale impact, accelerate climate action, and deliver measurable benefits for both ecosystems and local communities.
