Electric Future, an Australian home electrification company, has secured new capital from Ecotone Partners’ Planet Fund in a Series A round that values the business at $40 million pre-money. The investment marks the Planet Fund’s fourth portfolio commitment and reinforces growing momentum behind residential decarbonization solutions. The announcement arrives as demand for clean energy technologies accelerates nationwide, driven by households seeking lower energy costs and reduced emissions.

Building a One-Stop Home Electrification Platform

Founded in 2020, Electric Future set out to remove the barriers homeowners often encounter when shifting away from fossil-fueled appliances. The company supplies, installs, operates and maintains consumer energy resources, including EV chargers, home batteries, rooftop solar, electric heating, cooling and kitchen systems across Australia and New Zealand. Its subsidiary Revcharge extends this offering to EV owners through bundled hardware, installation and ongoing customer support.

A Fast-Growing Leader in Residential Decarbonization

Electric Future reports having helped more than 10,000 households electrify their homes, supported by a network of more than 3,500 installers nationwide. The company is currently completing up to 150 home installations per week, reflecting what it describes as strong and growing consumer interest in cleaner and more affordable energy solutions. Its trajectory earned it recognition on the 2025 Australian Financial Review Fast Starter List, following several years of rapid annual growth.

Simplifying Complexity for Households

Leadership at Electric Future notes that while homeowners are increasingly motivated to electrify, many are overwhelmed by the technical decisions and administrative steps involved. The company positions itself as a comprehensive service provider, offering advice on product selection, installation coordination, certificate creation and ongoing maintenance. This integrated model is designed to remove friction and give customers a single trusted partner throughout the entire transition process.

Lowering Costs Through Certificates and Partnerships

A central element of Electric Future’s strategy is its ability to reduce upfront costs by managing the complex ecosystem of energy certificates on behalf of customers. By handling certificate creation and trading, the company helps households access price reductions that would be difficult to secure independently. Electric Future also supports a growing network of white-label partnerships, enabling major brands in energy and mobility to offer home electrification packages powered by its platform.

Planet Fund’s Climate Finance Approach

Ecotone Partners’ Planet Fund was created to address what it describes as a longstanding gap in climate finance for companies that are too capital-intensive for venture capital and too early for traditional private equity. The fund combines structured debt and growth equity to support companies with validated technologies, established commercial traction and measurable emissions-reduction potential. Its investment philosophy centers on short-term liquidity for investors along with long-term upside from scalable climate solutions.

Strategic Deployment of New Capital

Electric Future plans to use the Series A funds to strengthen its installer network, enhance its digital customer experience and expand the breadth of products offered to households. The company also intends to scale its partnerships with utilities, retailers and automakers as a behind-the-scenes electrification platform. Leadership describes Ecotone Partners as a highly aligned investor focused on accelerating practical decarbonization while supporting sustainable commercial growth.

The Planet Fund’s investment signals increasing confidence in the role home electrification can play in Australia’s climate transition. Electric Future is positioning itself as a key enabler of that shift by combining technology, financing expertise and a nationwide service infrastructure. If the company continues scaling at its current pace while delivering measurable emissions reductions, it may become a defining example of how climate-focused financing can accelerate household-level transformation at national scale.
