Houston-based private equity firm EIV Capital has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Kristin Kelly as a partner, the company announced on September 16, 2026. Ms. Kelly arrives with nearly two decades of experience in energy investing, private equity, and transaction execution across the upstream sector and the broader energy value chain. At the firm, she will work alongside Claire Harvey and Jason Tracton to support acquisition sourcing, underwriting, and portfolio management for EIV Resources.

Strategic Expansion of the Partnership

Kristin Kelly will primarily focus on EIV Capital's upstream strategy as the firm continues to build its dedicated upstream platform. Her responsibilities include evaluating acquisition opportunities, strengthening underwriting processes, and overseeing portfolio investments. The appointment reflects the firm's commitment to capturing opportunities in North American energy markets while expanding its non-operated oil and gas interests.

A Distinguished Career in Energy Investment

Prior to joining EIV Capital, Ms. Kelly served as a managing director at EIG, where she most recently held the role of Head of Traditional Energy for the Americas. In that capacity, she led the firm's North American upstream investment strategy and gained extensive experience across credit, structured equity, and common equity investments. She also served as a board member for several portfolio companies during her tenure at EIG.

Early Career and Educational Background

Before her time at EIG, Ms. Kelly worked at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co., where she was a vice president in the firm's private equity business. She began her career in the firm's investment banking group, building a foundation in energy transactions and capital deployment. Ms. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University.

Leadership Perspectives on the Appointment

Patricia Melcher, founder and managing partner of EIV Capital, said the firm is delighted to add Kelly's high-caliber talent to its growing team. Melcher noted that EIV Resources has grown from a new strategy into a core offering and that Kelly's breadth of upstream investment experience will help capture a robust opportunity set. Claire Harvey, partner and CEO of EIV Resources, added that she knows firsthand the discipline Kelly brings to underwriting energy assets through multiple cycles.

Positioning EIV Resources for Growth

Kristin Kelly said the firm has built a differentiated energy investment platform with a high-quality team, several of whom she worked with earlier in her career. She described the organization as an ideal foundation to execute on the opportunity set ahead in energy and to continue building on existing momentum. Her appointment is expected to deepen EIV Resources' ability to evaluate complex upstream investments and manage assets across market cycles.
