Einride founders Robert Falck and Linnéa Kornehed Falck have launched Navisalma, a new European venture platform designed to help frontier technology companies grow into global category leaders. The Stockholm and Copenhagen-based initiative was founded with Robert Westerdahl, a former McKinsey partner and co-founder of Material Economics. Navisalma aims to combine technology, capital, design, and operational expertise within a single business-building model focused on scaling European innovation.

Addressing Europe’s Scaling Challenge

Navisalma is built around the view that Europe’s main weakness is not its ability to generate innovation, but its difficulty converting advanced technologies into large, globally competitive businesses. The founders argue that Europe already possesses strong capabilities in science, engineering, industrial production, craftsmanship, and design. Their objective is to connect those strengths more effectively with commercial execution and long-term capital to improve the prospects of emerging technology companies.

The platform has set a long-term ambition to help create at least 10 global technology leaders over the next decade. Rather than attempting to reproduce Silicon Valley’s startup ecosystem, Navisalma intends to establish a distinctly European approach to company building. Its model focuses on integrating product development, operational execution, customer adoption, branding, and financing throughout a company’s growth journey.

Building on the Einride Experience

Navisalma draws heavily on the founders’ experience building Einride, the Swedish technology company focused on electric and autonomous freight transportation. Robert Falck and Linnéa Kornehed Falck said their years developing Einride provided practical lessons in turning frontier technology into scalable products, commercial operations, and internationally recognized brands. Navisalma is intended to transform that experience into a repeatable framework that can be applied across multiple technology sectors.

The venture platform has already put its model into practice through Abundry, a Navisalma-backed company focused on the energy sector. Abundry uses technology and decision intelligence to improve the value and efficiency of existing energy infrastructure. According to Navisalma, the company serves as an early demonstration of how its integrated approach can be used to develop and scale businesses built around complex technologies.

Combining Capital and Operational Expertise

Navisalma plans to work alongside existing investors and company owners rather than position itself as a replacement for Europe’s established venture capital ecosystem. Westerdahl said the platform is designed to connect technological ambition with operational execution and disciplined value creation. Its financing approach seeks to combine venture capital’s willingness to support emerging technologies with the scaling, governance, and operational methods more commonly associated with private equity.

This structure is intended to support companies beyond the initial funding stage by addressing challenges that often emerge as technology ventures move toward industrial-scale operations. Navisalma plans to participate across the company-building process, from identifying technologies capable of reshaping industries to improving commercial adoption, operations, and enterprise value. The founders believe tighter coordination between capital and operational capabilities can help more European companies compete internationally.

Design as a Core Business Capability

Design is another central element of Navisalma’s strategy and is intended to be integrated from the earliest stages of product and company development. Linnéa Kornehed Falck said successful technology companies are not defined solely by technical performance, but also by their ability to make products useful, desirable, and relevant to customers. Navisalma therefore plans to combine product design, brand development, and technology strategy rather than treating design as a separate function introduced later.

The founders see Europe’s long history of craftsmanship, industrial quality, and design as a competitive advantage that technology companies can use more effectively. By combining these capabilities with advanced engineering and scalable business models, Navisalma hopes to help European companies build stronger brands and more defensible market positions. The platform’s approach reflects a broader effort to translate technological leadership into sustainable commercial leadership.

Navisalma enters the European venture market with a model centered on combining frontier technology, capital, design, and operational execution under one platform. Backed by the experience of Einride’s founders and already applied through Abundry, the initiative aims to create a more repeatable pathway for scaling complex technology businesses. Its long-term goal is to help Europe convert more of its scientific and engineering strengths into globally competitive companies capable of leading major industries.
