The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (TIEC), part of Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), has announced the selection of eight startups for the latest round of its flagship Start IT incubation programme. Now in its 47th edition, the programme provides a comprehensive support package valued at EGP480,000 (US$10,000) per startup. The initiative aims to nurture innovative ventures and position them for long-term growth and investment readiness.
Building Scalable ICT Ventures
Start IT is designed to help entrepreneurs transform ICT-driven ideas, prototypes, and solutions into scalable businesses. By offering structured incubation, mentorship, and access to resources, the programme enables startups to refine their models and enhance their market potential. Over the years, Start IT has become a cornerstone of Egypt’s innovation landscape, supporting multiple cohorts of early-stage companies across diverse industries.
The Eight Startups Selected
This year’s cohort reflects the breadth of Egypt’s growing startup ecosystem, spanning health-tech, logistics, AI, creative industries, and fintech. Among the selected ventures is Cluster, which is developing a digital platform to streamline pharmaceutical supply chains. Another entrant, Mystery Bag, aims to cut food waste by redistributing unsold inventory through smart digital solutions.
Converse2Note focuses on health innovation, using AI to convert doctor-patient consultations into structured medical reports. Coccarohome connects women artisans directly with consumers to promote handmade home décor, while Sportyano is building a digital space for talent discovery and academy management in the sports sector. LRNOVA leverages AI tools to create high-quality educational content, TANKER provides a digital system to monitor and manage fleet fuel consumption, and eDariba simplifies tax compliance for SMEs and freelancers in line with Egypt’s digital transformation agenda.
Added Value Through Start IT Perks
In parallel with the incubation programme, ITIDA has launched Start IT Perks, a platform designed to deliver additional benefits to incubated startups. The platform provides access to discounted premium digital tools and services through partnerships with key local enablers. These include Talents Arena, Sprints, The WhiteGuard, Qayedeny, Camion, Techie Matter, DevisionX, and Zurqa, creating a support system that enhances efficiency, reduces operational costs, and accelerates scaling opportunities.
Strengthening Egypt’s Startup Ecosystem
The initiative reflects a broader national strategy to foster digital entrepreneurship and strengthen Egypt’s startup ecosystem. By offering financial support, technical guidance, and partnerships with industry leaders, Start IT aims to create an enabling environment where early-stage ventures can thrive. This approach aligns with Egypt’s wider push for digital transformation, positioning startups as key drivers of innovation and economic growth.
With the launch of the 47th Start IT round, ITIDA and TIEC are once again reaffirming their commitment to nurturing homegrown innovation. The eight selected startups represent diverse solutions that address pressing challenges in healthcare, education, logistics, sustainability, and digital transformation. By combining financial backing, strategic partnerships, and structured mentorship, the programme continues to play a vital role in shaping Egypt’s next generation of high-impact companies.
