Digital Edge has successfully secured a landmark US$665 million green loan to advance its digital infrastructure in Southeast Asia. This financing will fund the initial phase of its ambitious 500MW CGK Campus located in Bekasi, Indonesia. The project represents a major step in developing sustainable, AI-ready data centers within the rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific market.


A Landmark Investment in Indonesia's Digital Future

The CGK Campus is a cornerstone of Digital Edge's regional strategy, with a planned total investment of US$4.5 billion across multiple phases. Situated in the GIIC Industrial Estate, it is poised to become one of Indonesia’s largest hyperscale data centers. This development directly supports the nation's growing demand for robust digital infrastructure and cloud services.

Specifically designed for next-generation technologies, the campus will provide resilient capacity for artificial intelligence and other data-intensive workloads. This focus on AI readiness addresses a critical need for specialized infrastructure as businesses adopt advanced computing. The facility will empower enterprises across the region to innovate and scale their digital operations.

Pioneering Sustainable Digital Infrastructure

This transaction marks the largest green loan for a data center in Indonesia, structured under Digital Edge's Green Financing Framework. The funding directly supports the company's ambitious goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. It solidifies the firm's position as a leader in environmentally responsible digital infrastructure development.

The campus design incorporates key sustainability features to minimize its environmental footprint. It targets a market-leading annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25 and is pursuing LEED certification. Furthermore, the facility will utilize advanced recycled water systems to conserve precious natural resources.

A core component of the project's sustainable design is the planned integration of renewable energy sources. This strategy is crucial for reducing the overall carbon intensity of the data center's operations. By prioritizing clean power, Digital Edge aligns its infrastructure development with global and national decarbonization goals.

Strong Financial Backing and Collaborative Vision

The successful closing of the loan was made possible by a powerful consortium of financial institutions acting as Mandated Lead Arrangers. This group includes prominent banks such as BNP Paribas, DBS, Mizuho, OCBC, and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. Their participation signals strong market confidence in the project's viability and sustainable objectives.

Several institutions, including Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, also served as Green Facility Coordinators. This collaborative effort highlights a shared commitment among financial partners to advance responsible infrastructure investment. The financing aligns with Indonesia’s broader ambitions for a sustainable and low-carbon economic future.
