DheyaTech Raises ₹43 Crore to Scale Gas Turbine Technology

The Bengaluru startup will expand production, testing and flight trials for indigenous turbines.

Bengaluru-based deep-tech firm DheyaTech has raised Rs 43 crore, approximately $4.5 million, in a funding round led by Avaana Capital with participation from Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Limited. The company develops micro gas turbine engines and energy systems for aerospace and power generation applications. The fresh capital will support production scaling, an integrated testing facility, and stronger engagement with domestic and international customers.


From Research to Production Readiness

DheyaTech was founded in 2018 by aerospace engineers with more than 15 years of industry experience at GE Aviation and Rolls-Royce. Its engine portfolio spans 20 kgf to 400 kgf of thrust, targeting advanced aerial mobility, aerial platforms, and distributed power systems. The company says these gas turbines are now entering commercial deployment, with flight trials targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026 and confirmed orders from Indian and global OEMs.

Strategic Capital for Testing and Scale

The funding will help DheyaTech move from technology development to higher production and dedicated testing infrastructure. The company follows a platform approach to develop engines across multiple thrust categories and applications, supported by an in-house engineering team. It has also designed a proprietary adaptive Engine Control Unit that manages engine operation under different conditions.

Certification and Hydrogen Ambitions

DheyaTech is pursuing independent airworthiness certification for its gas turbine engines under the guidance of CEMILAC-DRDO, which it says makes it the first private Indian company on this pathway. The certification aims to meet reliability and performance requirements for mission-critical aerospace applications. The company is also advancing hydrogen-based technology and has developed an ATEX-certified hydrogen blower along with a hydrogen-based flexi-fuel combustor through a collaboration with IISc-Bengaluru for its 60 kW turbogenerator.

Leadership and Investor Commentary

Gurushankara K C, chief executive officer and co-founder, said the company has spent the last decade building deep expertise in gas turbine technology with the vision of creating world-class propulsion and energy solutions from India. He added that the funding marks an important step from technology development to production readiness. Avaana Capital partner Vikas Verma noted that DheyaTech is building technology platforms from India for applications with global relevance.

Manufacturing and Strategic Partnerships

Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing will continue to support DheyaTech through its precision manufacturing capabilities for gas turbine components and systems. The partnership links DheyaTech's design and testing strengths with established manufacturing expertise. This collaboration is expected to help the company meet increasing demand from Indian and global original equipment manufacturers.

India's Small Gas Turbine Ecosystem

The investment arrives as several Indian startups deepen work on gas turbine and propulsion technologies. Nabhdrishti Aerospace raised $3 million in a seed round led by Accel in March 2025, while LAT Aerospace is developing lightweight gas turbine engines for its STOL aircraft programme. Hyderabad-based Paninian has also unveiled its 4.5 kN Yantur turbofan programme for autonomous aerospace and defence platforms.


With the new funding, DheyaTech is positioned to expand production capacity, complete testing infrastructure, and prepare for flight trials that will validate its engines in real-world conditions. The company aims to build a globally respected gas turbine technology company from India by 2030. Investor support from Avaana Capital and Unimech reflects growing confidence in indigenous deep-tech capabilities and sovereign propulsion systems.
