Swiss deeptech startup Delvitech has raised $40 million in a Series B funding round to scale its AI-powered optical inspection technology for the electronics industry. The round was led by EGS Beteiligungen (EGSB), the investment arm of the Ernst Göhner Foundation, alongside CREADD Ventures and several European private investors. The investment will accelerate Delvitech’s expansion strategy and strengthen its position as a leader in high-precision quality control solutions.

Pioneering AI in Automated Optical Inspection

Founded in 2018 by Roberto Gatti, Delvitech specializes in AI-native Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems designed to detect and classify microscopic defects in electronic components. Its technology integrates advanced neural networks with modular hardware to deliver precise inspection results across complex materials like transparent adhesives, micro-pitch connectors, and plastic parts used in printed circuit board (PCB) assembly. By leveraging self-learning algorithms, Delvitech minimizes the need for manual programming while continuously improving detection accuracy and speed.

Predictive and Self-Learning Intelligence

Delvitech’s inspection systems go beyond traditional quality control, offering predictive capabilities that can anticipate production errors before they occur. This approach reduces operational costs, optimizes efficiency, and enhances reliability for manufacturers across industries. The system’s adaptive intelligence allows it to evolve with production dynamics, ensuring consistent performance in sectors such as automotive, telecommunications, defense, IoT, and industrial automation.

Next-Generation Optical Hardware

The company’s proprietary HORUS optical heads are setting new performance benchmarks in the AOI market. The HORUS XP model captures ultra-fast images in just 60 milliseconds, while the HORUS HD version achieves an exceptional 3-micron resolution ideal for microelectronics. These innovations support Delvitech’s goal of delivering comprehensive inspection systems that combine speed, precision, and scalability.

Global Expansion and Manufacturing Vision

Backed by the latest capital injection, Delvitech is preparing for its next growth phase with a global expansion plan centered on India. The company aims to establish a manufacturing facility there by 2026, targeting a production capacity exceeding 200 machines per month by 2030. This strategic move positions Delvitech to better serve international clients and meet growing demand in emerging manufacturing hubs.

Strategic Collaborations and Research Partnerships

Delvitech’s innovation is rooted in close collaboration with Switzerland’s leading research institutions, including IDSIA, SUPSI, and HEIG-VD. These partnerships enable the company to continuously refine its AI models and maintain its leadership in applied deep learning for industrial use. Its recognition by the Swiss Economic Forum’s SEF.Growth High-Potential Label further validates its strong technological foundation and business growth trajectory.

Investor Confidence and Industry Validation

“Delvitech represents a unique opportunity—a highly specialized industrial deeptech company with a global vision and proprietary, scalable technology,” said founder and CEO Roberto Gatti. Christian Pfab, member of EGSB’s executive committee, emphasized the fund’s confidence in Delvitech’s innovation leadership and global potential. Paolo Orsatti, managing partner at CREADD Ventures, added that the firm remains committed to supporting Delvitech’s continued development and market expansion.

As Delvitech prepares to showcase its next generation of predictive AOI systems at Productronica Munich 2025, it continues to redefine how manufacturers approach quality control. By combining Swiss engineering precision with AI-driven adaptability, the company is shifting inspection from detection to prevention. This funding milestone cements Delvitech’s role at the forefront of intelligent manufacturing and reinforces Switzerland’s position as a global hub for deeptech innovation.
