Gurugram-based defence technology startup Armory has secured a landmark ₹100 crore ($10.5 million) contract from India's Ministry of Defence. The significant order is for the production and deployment of its indigenous AI-powered counter-drone system, known as SURGE. The SURGE platform is an advanced Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) designed to detect, track, and neutralize unauthorized aerial threats. It operates on the company's proprietary Samaritan OS, which leverages artificial intelligence to scan environments millions of times per second. This software enables the system to learn new radio frequency signatures in real-time, continuously updating its threat library for enhanced effectiveness.
Developed and made field-ready in just 14 months, the system's design was heavily influenced by direct user feedback from military personnel.
