Scrubsy, a direct-to-consumer home-cleaning brand, has successfully raised ₹27 crore, equivalent to $3 million, in a seed funding round. The investment was led by consumer-focused firm V3 Ventures and will fuel the startup's next phase of growth. Founded in 2025 by Kartik Sibal, Ishan Suri, Nitin Jain, and Aditya Bhasin, the company specializes in innovative foam-based cleaning solutions.

A Focus on In-House Manufacturing and R&D

The fresh capital is earmarked for expanding the company's in-house manufacturing capabilities and bolstering its research and development efforts. Unlike many D2C brands that outsource production, Scrubsy maintains control over its entire product lifecycle from formulation to manufacturing. This strategy allows for stringent quality control and rapid innovation based on direct market feedback.

A key part of Scrubsy's innovation process involves leveraging artificial intelligence to analyze customer reviews and identify specific cleaning challenges. This data-driven approach enables the Gurugram-based startup to refine its product formulations and develop solutions that meet precise consumer demands. The company's commitment to this integrated model was a key factor in attracting investor interest.

Product Portfolio and Growth Trajectory

Scrubsy's current product line includes specialized foam cleaners for kitchens, bathrooms, footwear, and other household surfaces. Its formulations are designed to cling to grime and deliver results within 30 seconds, minimizing the need for intensive scrubbing. The company plans to use the new funds to venture into new categories, including car and laundry care products.

Operating under its parent entity, BoldChem Science Pvt Ltd, the startup has demonstrated impressive growth since its launch. It claims to have acquired over 500,000 customers within eight months and has been EBITDA-positive since its inception. The company is now targeting an ambitious annual recurring revenue of ₹100 crore by the 2028 fiscal year.

Market Opportunity and Competitive Pressures

The investment arrives as India's household cleaning market experiences significant expansion, driven by increased hygiene awareness and urbanization. The market, valued at nearly $12 billion in 2025, is projected to reach almost $40 billion by 2034. This growth reflects a consumer shift towards specialized and branded cleaning solutions for specific household needs.

V3 Ventures expressed confidence in Scrubsy's ability to build a strong customer base while remaining bootstrapped in a competitive field. However, the startup faces challenges from established FMCG giants and other niche players like Happi Planet and Koparo Clean. Success will depend on managing the high capital costs associated with its in-house production model while scaling effectively.

This ₹27 crore funding round marks a pivotal moment for Scrubsy, validating its unique business model and significant growth potential. The capital injection empowers the company to scale its manufacturing operations and deepen its research into proprietary home-care formulations. As it expands its footprint, Scrubsy is well-positioned to carve out a significant share in India's dynamic home-care industry.
