Côte d'Ivoire has launched a significant initiative to bolster its technology sector through two new accelerator programs. The "Ivoire Tech Next 15" and "Ivoire Tech Scale Up" initiatives aim to fast-track the development of high-potential digital startups and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This government-led effort, supported by partners like ST DIGITAL, seeks to cultivate a new generation of digital leaders within the country.

A Strategic Push for Digital Growth

The programs were officially unveiled at a ceremony in Abidjan, bringing together key figures from the nation's digital ecosystem. In total, 30 digital enterprises will receive structured assistance over a 24-month period to scale their operations effectively. This initiative is a core component of the Ministry of Digital Transition's 2026-2028 roadmap for national digital advancement and innovation.

The government has set an ambitious goal to double the digital economy's contribution to the national GDP within three years from its current 6-8%. These accelerator programs are designed to create globally competitive technology companies and enhance their access to new markets. This strategic focus aligns with Côte d'Ivoire's broader National Development Plan for 2026-2030, signaling a long-term commitment.

Program Details and Eligibility

The "Ivoire Tech Next 15" program is tailored for innovative startups with at least one year of operation and a market-ready product. Applicants must be headquartered in Côte d’Ivoire, demonstrate growing revenue, and show clear potential for local and international expansion. Majority ownership by the founders is also a key requirement for consideration in this particular track.

For more established businesses, the "Ivoire Tech Scale Up" program targets digital SMEs with three to five completed financial years. These companies must have an average annual turnover of at least CFA 500 million and generate a majority of their revenue from digital activities. Additionally, they must employ at least 10 people and maintain full fiscal and social compliance.

The application window for both programs is open online and will close on September 13, 2026. Following the deadline, shortlisted companies will present their projects to an independent international jury for final evaluation. The selected beneficiaries are expected to be officially announced at the end of September in Abidjan, marking the start of their acceleration journey.

Fostering Public-Private Collaboration

Alongside the accelerators, the government introduced the "Ivoire Gouv Tech Lab," a platform to bridge public administration and the tech sector. This digital hub will showcase government projects, allowing startups and SMEs to propose and develop solutions for public services. The initiative aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the country's public institutions through local innovation.

The success of these programs relies on strong public-private partnerships, with ST DIGITAL serving as the official hosting infrastructure partner. The company will provide crucial technical expertise and infrastructure support to help the selected businesses scale their operations. This collaboration highlights a shared commitment to strengthening the digital capabilities of Ivorian enterprises and ensuring their sustainable growth.

These comprehensive initiatives represent a pivotal moment for Côte d'Ivoire's technology landscape and its broader economic ambitions. By providing targeted support, fostering innovation, and connecting public needs with private sector solutions, the nation is building a resilient digital ecosystem. The programs are poised to unlock significant growth, positioning Ivorian tech companies for both domestic success and international competitiveness.
