Constructor, a product discovery platform for the agentic era, announced Agentic Checkout on October 5, 2026, with integrated Stripe payment capabilities. The new solution lets human shoppers and automated agents find products, ask questions, receive personalized recommendations, refine choices, and complete purchases without leaving one agent conversation or interface. By embedding checkout directly into the shopping agent, Constructor and Stripe address a major friction point that previously forced consumers back into traditional online purchase flows.
Reshaping the Agentic Commerce Journey
Research cited by Constructor indicates that 4 in 10 shoppers have already tried agentic commerce tools, yet many of those tools stop at product discovery. As a result, consumers often move into a disconnected checkout process that can interrupt intent and increase distraction. Agentic Checkout removes that break by creating one connected flow from search and recommendations to secure payment, helping retailers capture demand while enthusiasm is highest.
How Discovery and Payment Fit Together
Constructor brings personalized conversational assistance to retail websites and mobile apps through a suite of AI agents powered by its Commerce Reasoning Engine. The engine learns from each shopper's behavior across a retailer's channels to generate increasingly relevant recommendations. Stripe then extends the experience through checkout, supporting Link by Stripe, used by 250 million customers, and other payment methods to keep the purchase inside the same interface.
The combined experience supports three stages of shopping. Shoppers can start with broad, need-based questions such as what to wear to an outdoor fall wedding or how to plan quick family dinners. They can then ask product-specific questions, including whether a dress runs true to size or whether tortillas are gluten-free, before checking out securely with Stripe.
Availability and Retailer Adoption
Agentic Checkout is currently available within Constructor's AI Shopping Agent, referred to as ASA, and its AI Product Insights Agent, or PIA. Constructor expects to expand the functionality to more touchpoints throughout retailers' digital properties later this year. For existing Constructor customers, enabling Stripe-powered checkout requires updating the UI library and adding Stripe credentials to the configuration.
Retailers that do not currently use Stripe can still enable Agentic Checkout without changing their existing payment setup elsewhere. The company reports that deployments of its AI agents have increased by 900% over the past year, while 80% of Link customers used a chat-based agent in the past month and half use artificial intelligence for shopping research at least monthly. Many retailers and brands already use both Constructor and Stripe, giving them an easy opportunity to connect the two platforms.
Executive Perspective
Eli Finkelshteyn, CEO and co-founder of Constructor, said agentic commerce should allow a shopper to express a need and have AI help at every step of the journey. He noted that delivering on that promise requires strong discovery combined with reliable checkout, with Constructor specializing in the former and Stripe in the latter. Finkelshteyn added that the partnership makes agentic shopping more complete for consumers and more valuable for retailers.
Agentic Checkout brings discovery and payment together in a single experience, helping retailers reduce distraction and convert AI-assisted interest into completed sales. The launch reflects a broader shift toward agentic commerce, backed by data showing that Link customers already engage heavily with chat-based agents and AI shopping research. As adoption of Constructor's agents continues to climb, this integration may set a new standard for connecting conversational commerce with secure, embedded payments.
