Chift, a Brussels-based fintech company, has raised €10.5 million in a Series A funding round to support its expansion across Europe and the further development of its financial connectivity platform. The investment was led by BlackFin Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Entourage Ventures, Shapers, Seeder Fund and Wallonie Entreprendre. Founded in 2022, the company enables software vendors to integrate once and connect their products with more than 120 financial systems across six categories and multiple European markets.

Addressing Financial Software Fragmentation

Software providers frequently need to build and maintain separate integrations for different platforms and countries, which makes scaling across Europe expensive and slow. Chift addresses this challenge by allowing companies to connect their products with financial systems spanning accounting, invoicing, payments, e-commerce, point of sale and property management tools through one API. The company argues that interoperability is becoming a defining problem for European small and medium-sized business finance, as systems remain divided across 27 countries and multiple regulatory frameworks.

AI and E-Invoicing Fuel Demand

Chift identifies artificial intelligence and the introduction of e-invoicing regulations across Europe as two key drivers of demand for financial interoperability. AI-based financial products depend on access to data held across existing business systems, while electronic invoicing pushes more financial processes onto digital platforms. Gauthier Henroz, co-founder and chief executive, said, "AI and e-invoicing are rebuilding the entire financial software market, and businesses run on more tools than ever."

A Young Company with Early Conviction

Chift was founded in 2022 by Gauthier Henroz, Henry Hertoghe and Matthieu Hertoghe, who entered the integration market despite widespread doubts about the sector's viability. The founding team has said that early uncertainty about survival strengthened its commitment to solving a problem many others had abandoned. That persistence helped the company attract its first customers and eventually build a platform used by some of Europe's leading financial technology providers.

Rapid Growth and Customer Adoption

According to the company, since a seed round of €2.3 million in 2024, revenue has multiplied more than tenfold and the workforce has expanded to 35 employees. More than 150 software companies now use the platform to connect approximately 50,000 businesses across 13 countries. Customers include technology providers such as Sage, Revolut, Qonto, Pennylane, Mollie and Teamleader, reflecting strong adoption across the fintech and business software sectors.

Scaling Smarter Integrations Across Europe

The Series A capital will support Chift's entry into additional European markets and further investment in artificial intelligence capabilities. The company plans to connect AI products that require access to financial data and to develop integrations that can configure themselves with less manual setup. These developments are intended to reduce implementation work for software providers and help more small and medium-sized businesses digitalise their financial operations in a fast-changing regulatory environment.

Chift's Series A round reflects investor confidence in infrastructure that connects Europe's fragmented financial software landscape. The company is positioning itself as a financial connectivity layer for the AI era, where e-invoicing and automated finance require reliable data access across many systems and national markets. With fresh funding and plans to grow its team across Europe, Chift aims to turn a complex integration challenge into a scalable foundation for European business finance.
