CarePay Group has announced significant leadership changes, appointing Moses G. Kuria as Acting Chief Executive Officer for CarePay International and M-TIBA. This strategic transition also sees Irene Nafula promoted to Acting Managing Director of M-TIBA Kenya. The appointments follow the departure of Pieter Prickaerts, who has stepped down after a notable tenure as Group CEO.
A New Era of Leadership
As Acting CEO, Moses G. Kuria will oversee CarePay Group’s leadership and strategic direction, with a focus on executing the company’s strategy and scaling its health insurance technology platform. His appointment reflects CarePay’s commitment to promoting experienced internal leaders to drive future growth.
Mr. Kuria has been with CarePay for a decade in several senior roles, most recently as Group Chief Financial Officer and previously as Managing Director of M-TIBA. He also holds an MBA from the University of Nairobi, combining deep institutional knowledge with strong academic grounding to lead the company into its next phase.
Strengthening the Kenyan Market
Irene Nafula has been appointed Acting Managing Director of M-TIBA Kenya, where she will oversee the Kenyan business, including strategic partnerships, operational performance, and client delivery. Her promotion highlights CarePay’s focus on strengthening leadership in one of its key markets.
She previously served as Commercial Director at M-TIBA, leading partner engagement and building strong market relationships. With more than 15 years of experience in healthcare across product development, operations, and service delivery, and an MSc in Organisational Development from the United States International University, she is well placed to drive growth and innovation.
