Brookfield Asset Management has officially launched Radiant, a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company, following its strategic acquisition of the UK-based startup Ori Industries. This new entity combines Ori's advanced distributed cloud platform with Brookfield's immense capital and global infrastructure development capabilities. Radiant is engineered to build and operate large-scale "AI factories," addressing the critical global demand for sovereign and enterprise-grade compute capacity.

A New Infrastructure Asset Class

Radiant emerges as the first compute deployment vehicle from Brookfield’s ambitious AI Infrastructure Fund, which is targeting $10 billion in commitments. This fund is part of a broader initiative that could reach $100 billion, signaling Brookfield's intent to establish AI infrastructure as a new asset class. The venture is designed to channel long-term capital into building the foundational elements of the global AI economy.

The company's business model strategically avoids technology risk by functioning as an infrastructure leasing business rather than a tech developer. Radiant will provide compute capacity to sovereign governments and large enterprises through long-term contracts structured to cover the hardware's lifecycle. These agreements require clients to pay the full contract value, ensuring predictable, utility-like returns for investors.

Integrating Ori's Platform and Expertise

The acquisition of Ori Industries provides Radiant with a mature, distributed AI cloud platform already operating across more than 20 data centers. Ori's founder, Mahdi Yahya, will assume the role of President at Radiant, bringing critical software and market expertise to the new venture. This merger effectively combines an innovative technology platform with the scale and financial power of a global infrastructure leader.

Powered by Nvidia's Advanced Technology

Central to Radiant's operational strategy is its deep partnership with Nvidia, a key investor in Brookfield's AI fund. Radiant will construct its AI factories based on the NVIDIA DSX reference design, ensuring an optimized and scalable architecture for its clients. This collaboration provides Radiant with a direct pipeline to the world's leading AI hardware and systems expertise.

The company is committed to deploying the latest technology, including the NVIDIA Blackwell platform and the forthcoming Rubin processors when they become available. The existing Ori Global AI Cloud, which serves customers needing on-demand access, will also be upgraded with this state-of-the-art hardware. This ensures that all of Radiant's offerings remain at the cutting edge of AI performance and efficiency.

Strategic Focus on the Middle East

Radiant's global ambitions include a significant focus on the Middle East, leveraging Ori's pre-existing relationship with Wa'ed Ventures, Saudi Aramco's venture arm. Wa'ed Ventures is expected to continue as a stakeholder, aligning Radiant's expansion with regional technology initiatives like Saudi Vision 2030. This connection positions Radiant to support the growing demand for AI workloads throughout the MENA region.

Concrete expansion plans are already in motion, highlighted by Brookfield's development of a data center campus in Qatar in partnership with a Qatar Investment Authority subsidiary. This facility is slated to lease compute capacity directly from Radiant, demonstrating a tangible commitment to the region. Such projects are part of Brookfield's broader push to deepen its infrastructure presence across the Gulf.

The formation of Radiant represents a formidable new force in the global AI infrastructure market, which Brookfield estimates will require trillions in capital investment. By uniting Brookfield's financial strength, Ori's software intelligence, and Nvidia's leading-edge technology, the company is poised to address the profound supply-demand imbalance for AI compute. Radiant's utility-scale approach aims to build the resilient, long-term infrastructure necessary to power a new era of artificial intelligence.
