French healthtech startup Biolevate has raised €30 million in Series A funding to expand its artificial intelligence platform for scientific and regulatory workflows across the life sciences industry. The round was co-led by RAISE France and Orange Ventures, with participation from MSD Global Health Innovation Fund, Station F, and existing investor EQT Ventures. Biolevate plans to use the capital to accelerate international expansion, strengthen its technology, and deploy its platform with more pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations.

Automating Complex Life Sciences Workflows

Founded in Paris by former Dataiku engineers and AI researchers, Biolevate develops an enterprise agentic AI platform designed to automate knowledge-intensive processes in regulated healthcare environments. Its technology captures and structures scientific and regulatory information before converting that knowledge into auditable workflows supported by AI agents. The system is designed to ground its outputs in source evidence while maintaining human oversight, an important requirement for organizations operating under strict regulatory standards.

The platform was initially developed to improve regulatory approval processes but has since expanded across a broader range of life sciences activities. Biolevate now supports applications spanning drug research and development, clinical trials, regulatory dossiers, health technology assessments, literature reviews, market access, and scientific research synthesis. According to the company, its infrastructure can operate as many as 100,000 AI agents concurrently, allowing customers to automate complex processes at enterprise scale.

Growing Adoption Across the Pharmaceutical Industry

Biolevate reports that its technology has reduced the time required for certain pharmaceutical processes by as much as 50 percent, with the aim of shortening the period between treatment discovery and patient access. The company has also reported a sixteenfold acceleration in systematic literature reviews and research synthesis, alongside an 80 percent improvement in efficiency for regulatory intelligence and compliance activities. Since completing its seed round in 2024, Biolevate has expanded to more than a dozen enterprise customers and increased its annual recurring revenue.

The startup is now extending its presence beyond Europe as demand grows for AI systems that can operate within regulated scientific environments. Biolevate is opening an office in Boston as part of its expansion into the United States and has doubled its workforce during the past year, with plans to double headcount again over the coming year. The company has also drafted seven patent applications across several therapeutic areas, including two applications already filed in Europe.

Orange Partnership Extends Commercial Reach

Alongside its investment through Orange Ventures, Orange is expanding its commercial relationship with Biolevate through Orange Business and its affiliate Enovalife. The companies intend to combine Biolevate's agentic AI technology with Enovalife's expertise in clinical research, data, AI transformation, and integration to support pharmaceutical and life sciences customers. Their initial focus will include clinical-development workflows such as trial protocol creation, clinical study reports, and regulatory documentation that must be adapted across different jurisdictions.

The partnership reflects a broader shift among pharmaceutical companies from experimenting with generative AI toward deploying automation within established operational and regulatory processes. Biolevate CEO Joël Belafa said the company's objective is to reduce the time between potentially life-saving discoveries and their availability to patients by applying knowledge-driven automation throughout the life sciences value chain. Biolevate is also part of the French Tech 2030 program and has received support from Future4Care, the European digital health ecosystem co-founded by Orange.

The €30 million Series A gives Biolevate additional resources to scale its platform as pharmaceutical companies increasingly explore practical applications of agentic AI beyond pilot projects. By combining international expansion with deeper partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem, the company is positioning its technology around scientific workflows where traceability, regulatory compliance, and human supervision remain critical. Its next phase will focus on expanding enterprise adoption while demonstrating that AI-driven automation can deliver measurable gains without compromising the controls required in life sciences.
