London-based deeptech firm BeyondMath has secured a $10 million Seed extension, bringing its total seed funding to $18.5 million. The round, led by Cambridge Innovation Capital, will fuel the expansion of its generative physics model for engineering simulations. This technology promises to dramatically accelerate design processes across multiple high-stakes industries by delivering results up to 1000x faster than traditional methods.

A New Paradigm in Engineering Simulation

Industrial companies often struggle with legacy simulation tools that cannot keep pace with modern hardware and AI-driven workflows. BeyondMath addresses this by using a foundational AI model trained directly on first-principles physics. This innovative approach enables the creation of engineering-grade simulations in minutes instead of the hours or days required by supercomputers.

Real-World Applications and Impact

The technology's impact is demonstrated in the $19 million STRATA project with Honeywell, where it simulates complex aircraft components rapidly. By optimizing internal fluid paths and thermal performance, the partnership aims to create lighter, more efficient aerospace parts. This could lead to significant fuel savings and a reduction in global aviation emissions.

Beyond aerospace, BeyondMath's platform is utilized by major automotive, electronics, and semiconductor manufacturers. In Formula 1, the technology supports real-time testing of thousands of design combinations to optimize aerodynamics and thermal management. The company also aids in data centre design, showcasing its versatility across different sectors.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Reach

Founded in 2022 by AI industry veterans Alan Patterson and Darren Garvey, the company has developed the world’s largest foundational physics model. To support its platform, BeyondMath has established key partnerships with industry giants NVIDIA and AWS. These collaborations ensure its technology is integrated with leading computational infrastructure and accessible to a broad market.

Fueling Future Growth and Innovation

This latest capital injection will be used to scale the commercial deployment of its generative physics technology and expand research capabilities. The company plans to double its headcount this year and grow its customer base across Europe, the US, and Japan. CEO Alan Patterson described the moment as a potential "ChatGPT moment for physics," highlighting its transformative potential.

Investor Confidence and Vision

Lead investor Cambridge Innovation Capital expressed strong confidence in the company's mission to solve a critical engineering problem. Edward Inns, a Principal at the firm, highlighted BeyondMath's unique combination of physics and AI. He noted the platform's potential to redefine how complex systems are designed across multiple industries.

With its newly secured funding and strong investor backing, BeyondMath is poised to accelerate the adoption of its generative physics platform. The company's technology offers a transformative solution for engineering design, promising to unlock new levels of innovation and efficiency. Its continued growth will be pivotal in shaping the future of simulation across global industries.
