Montreal-based Axya has announced a $17 million CAD Series A funding round aimed at accelerating its AI-powered procurement platform for manufacturers. The investment was led by McRock Capital with participation from Yamaha Motor Ventures, along with existing backers BDC Capital's Industrial Innovation Venture Fund and Real Ventures. The company also secured a new banking relationship with CIBC to support its next phase of growth.
Funding and Investor Support
McRock Capital led the Series A round, with participation from Yamaha Motor Ventures. Existing investors BDC Capital's Industrial Innovation Venture Fund and Real Ventures also joined, reaffirming their confidence in the company's growth trajectory. Axya established a new banking relationship with CIBC, which provides additional financing to help fund its next expansion phase.
How Axya Modernizes Procurement
Axya helps complex manufacturers make their supply chains more predictable, cost-effective, and resilient by combining deep ERP integrations with AI-powered workflows that complement existing procurement teams. The company specializes in aerospace and defense, custom machinery and vehicles, and natural resources and processing. Leading manufacturers such as MDA Space and GE Aerospace use the platform to modernize procurement operations across mid-market to enterprise segments.
Human-in-the-Loop AI Approach
The platform integrates with ERP systems from Infor, Epicor, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and Sage to connect supplier networks and enterprise data. Axya takes a human-in-the-loop approach that keeps procurement teams in control while AI automates data normalization, early risk flagging, and savings identification. This design enables buyers and suppliers to collaborate using multiple file formats and channels, supporting a fully connected supplier base.
Founder's Perspective
Founder and CEO Félix Bélisle-Dockrill has a background in mechanical engineering and worked in supplier quality for two of the largest aerospace manufacturers. That experience showed him the challenges of evaluating and managing suppliers and led him to found Axya. He explained that despite significant digital transformation investments, procurement remains one of the most fragmented functions in manufacturing, and Axya connects the data, suppliers, and workflows that drive purchasing decisions.
Growth Plans and Market Opportunity
With the new capital, Axya will deepen its AI capabilities for risk detection, optimization, and automated workflows. The company also plans to grow its sales, customer success, and engineering teams to speed deployments and improve outcomes. It intends to strengthen its North American presence, expand internationally, and broaden ERP partnerships and partner programs to accelerate enterprise adoption.
Investor Confidence
Udit Bhatnagar, Partner at McRock Capital, described a large market opportunity for industrial AI in the everyday work that keeps factories running. He said manufacturing procurement is a prime example where critical decisions depend on scattered information. Bhatnagar added that Axya brings AI directly into that workflow and that McRock led the Series A because the team understands both the technology and the industrial problem it needs to solve.
The Series A funding positions Axya to advance its platform and expand its market presence at a time when manufacturers face growing pressure to make supply chains more resilient. By continuing to combine deep ERP integrations with AI-powered automation, the company aims to help procurement teams reduce manual effort and improve supplier responsiveness. Its focus on human oversight and high supplier adoption offers a practical path for industrial companies seeking modernization without disruption.
