AttoTude Inc., a pioneer in interconnect technology for AI infrastructure, has successfully closed a $52 million Series C funding round. The financing was led by The Westly Group and elevates the company's total capital raised to $143 million. This investment will accelerate the development of its unique "ASIC over Dielectric" platform, designed to enhance connectivity in large-scale AI systems.

A New Approach to AI Connectivity

AttoTude is developing a novel scale-up interconnect category that transmits electrical signals directly over low-loss dielectric waveguides. This architecture supports impressive per-lane data rates of 200G, 400G, and even 800G. The technology is engineered to far surpass the performance limitations inherent in conventional copper-based approaches for high-speed data transmission.

The company's solution addresses a critical gap in AI infrastructure by offering scalable mid-range connectivity. It is designed to avoid the significant cost, power, and reliability penalties often associated with purely optical technologies. This provides a practical and efficient path to support the demanding interface requirements of future AI hardware.

Strategic Investment and Market Confidence

The funding round saw strong support from both new and existing partners, signaling significant market confidence. The Westly Group led the investment, joined by new strategic backers including Keysight, Allegis Capital, and DNX. Prominent existing investors such as Sutter Hill Ventures, Mayfield, and Wing Venture Capital also participated in the round.

Investor enthusiasm is rooted in the technology's potential to solve critical industry challenges. Steve Westly, Managing Partner at The Westly Group, praised AttoTude's position to address key bottlenecks in the expanding AI ecosystem. This sentiment was echoed by partners like Keysight, who see such architectures as vital for enabling higher performance and efficiency.

Accelerating Commercialization and Product Development

The new capital will be instrumental in advancing AttoTude's technology from the innovation phase to tangible product development. A primary focus will be on constructing the first prototypes and establishing a robust, scalable supply chain. These steps are crucial for preparing the technology for widespread adoption and manufacturing at scale.

Company leadership has outlined a clear path toward commercialization, with initial product demonstrations scheduled for this fall. CEO Dave Welch described the financing as a pivotal step in this transition from a transformative idea to a market-ready product. The investment positions AttoTude to capitalize on immense market demand from leading hyperscale and AI infrastructure providers.

This substantial $52 million investment marks a significant milestone for AttoTude, strongly validating its innovative vision for AI connectivity. The funding equips the company with the necessary resources to bring its category-defining "ASIC over Dielectric" technology to market. As a result, AttoTude is well-positioned to deliver compelling performance and efficiency gains for the next generation of AI infrastructure.
