Articore has completed its acquisition of Frankly Wearing, an India-based print-on-demand creator marketplace, in a move that expands the group’s reach into one of the world’s most dynamic creator economies. The company, which owns and operates Redbubble and TeePublic, said the transaction gives it a stronger position in India’s print-on-demand market, which it values at more than US$1 billion. The acquisition also adds a locally established marketplace to Articore’s portfolio at a time when independent creators are increasingly seeking low-cost ways to commercialize their designs.

Strategic Entry Into India

The deal gives Articore immediate access to a fast-growing market where digital creators, artists, and small online communities are turning merchandise into a revenue channel. Print-on-demand platforms are designed to remove the need for creators to invest upfront in inventory, manufacturing, or logistics, making it easier for individuals with both small and large audiences to sell branded products. By combining Frankly Wearing’s local market knowledge with Articore’s global infrastructure, the group aims to build a stronger presence in India while extending its creator marketplace model.

Scaling a Global Creator Network

Articore’s existing marketplaces already operate at significant scale, with Redbubble and TeePublic receiving more than 10,000 new design uploads each day from independent artists across more than 100 countries. The company said its platforms have shipped over 250 million products and generated US$3.2 billion in cumulative revenue, supported by a community of more than three million creators and 75 million unique designs. Adding Frankly Wearing gives the group another channel through which artists can reach customers seeking original designs on apparel and everyday products.

Technology and Operational Impact

Beyond market expansion, the acquisition also gives Articore an immediate engineering base in India, which the company views as an important step in strengthening its technology capabilities. Articore said Frankly Wearing is cash flow positive and has delivered consistent high double-digit growth, making it both a commercial and operational addition to the group. The company also plans to use the acquisition as the foundation for a Global Capability Centre that could support product development, accelerate its technology roadmap, and help reduce operating costs over time.

Articore Chief Executive Vivek Kumar described the acquisition as a way to accelerate the company’s technology plans while opening a significant new market for the group. The transaction positions Articore to combine its global fulfilment network and marketplace experience with Frankly Wearing’s India-focused platform and operational expertise. As creator commerce continues to expand, the acquisition gives Articore a clearer pathway into India’s print-on-demand sector and strengthens its broader portfolio of marketplaces for independent artists.
