Victorian-based beverage innovator Aquafab has successfully closed a US$425,000 Series A funding round on the Birchal platform, securing support from over 300 investors. The capital injection is set to fuel the company's continued domestic growth and finance its strategic expansion into the United States and United Kingdom markets later this year. This milestone underscores the significant market traction for its unique, plant-based cocktail foamer since its recent commercial launch.

Innovating the Beverage Industry

Aquafab offers a vegan cocktail foamer crafted from the liquid of locally-grown faba beans, presenting a sustainable and effective alternative to traditional egg whites. It is designed to produce the luxurious foam and velvety texture mixologists seek without impacting the cocktail's original flavor. The product directly addresses the growing consumer demand for high-quality, plant-based ingredients within the global hospitality sector.

The product delivers significant practical benefits for commercial venues, packaged in a convenient 500ml Tetra Pak that yields more than 16 cocktails. Its impressive two-year shelf life and ease of use eliminate complex preparation and minimize waste, optimizing workflow in busy bar environments. Proudly a 100% Victorian product, it is produced in Ballarat, reinforcing its commitment to local sourcing and manufacturing.

A Trajectory of Rapid Growth

Since its commercial debut in October 2024, led by co-founders Danny Kane and Rebecca Grey, Aquafab has experienced remarkable market adoption. The innovative foamer is already utilized in over 800 venues across Australia, a testament to its immediate appeal and functionality. This swift uptake highlights a clear industry need for a reliable and high-performing plant-based foaming agent.

The company's quality and global potential are further validated by key partnerships and prestigious industry awards. Aquafab is now an official supplier to world-renowned cruise lines such as Disney, Princess, Holland, and Crystal. Additionally, it was featured as a Rising Star by Food & Drink Business magazine and secured the top honor in the Best Ingredient category at the 2025 Hive Awards.

Fueling International Expansion

The successful $425,000 capital raise is a strategic move that provides the necessary resources for Aquafab's next growth phase. This funding will be instrumental in scaling domestic operations while facilitating a targeted entry into the lucrative US and UK markets. The company's expansion plans are bolstered by promising early interest from major international distribution partners, indicating a strong potential for global success.

Company leadership expressed great satisfaction with the crowdfunding campaign, noting the financial backing gives the business legs to expand abroad. They conveyed deep appreciation for the support from their new shareholders and the shared passion for the brand's vision. The campaign also served as a powerful marketing tool, creating further brand awareness and generating a significant number of new business enquiries.

Aquafab's successful Series A funding round marks a pivotal moment, solidifying its position as a disruptive force in the beverage industry. With a proven product, a strong domestic foothold, and a clear strategy for international growth, the company is poised for continued success. Aquafab is set to become an indispensable tool for modern mixologists, championing sustainability and innovation on a global scale.
