Anthropic is expanding its European operations with new offices in Paris and Munich, marking another step in the company’s global growth strategy. These additions follow recent openings in Tokyo, Seoul, and Bengaluru, reinforcing Anthropic’s growing presence across Europe alongside its hubs in London, Dublin, and Zurich. The company has tripled its EMEA workforce over the past year and continues to invest heavily in regional expansion.
Accelerating Growth Across EMEA
Europe has rapidly become Anthropic’s fastest-growing market, driven by rising enterprise adoption of its AI assistant, Claude. The company reports a ninefold increase in run-rate revenue in the region over the past year, alongside a tenfold surge in large enterprise customers generating more than $100,000 each in annual revenue. Anthropic’s EMEA Managing Director, Chris Ciauri, said the company’s expansion underscores both the scale of European opportunity and the importance of AI safety, reliability, and public trust.
Supporting Industry Transformation
According to the Anthropic Economic Index, artificial intelligence is already reshaping traditional European industries such as manufacturing, tourism, and web development. Claude is being deployed by global enterprises like L’Oréal, BMW, SAP, and Sanofi, as well as digital-first companies including Lovable, N26, Pigment, Qonto, and Doctolib. These organizations are using Anthropic’s technology to streamline software development, improve code quality, and manage network reliability—tasks where precision and trust are paramount.
Strategic Expansion in Key Markets
Germany and France were natural choices for Anthropic’s next phase of growth, given their leadership in industries like healthcare, automotive, and finance. Both countries rank among the top 20 globally for Claude usage per capita, making them ideal hubs for commercial growth and policy collaboration. The new Paris and Munich offices will anchor Anthropic’s regional operations and serve as centers for research, partnerships, and sales.
Building a Regional Leadership Team
To sustain this momentum, Anthropic has appointed a senior leadership team to oversee its EMEA operations. Guillaume Princen will lead startups, mid-market, and digital-native businesses, focusing on accelerating growth in these high-potential segments. In the north, Pip White, former executive at Salesforce, Google, and Slack, will manage operations across the UK, Ireland, Benelux, Nordics, and Israel. Thomas Remy, previously with Google Cloud, will head EMEA South from Paris, covering France, Italy, Iberia, the Middle East, and Africa. The company also plans to appoint a Head of DACH and CEE to manage growth across Central and Eastern Europe, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
Investing in Local Ecosystems
Beyond corporate expansion, Anthropic is partnering with local organizations to promote AI education and culture. In Munich, it is supporting two hackathons hosted by TUI.ai, a student-led initiative at the Technical University of Munich. In France, it has joined forces with Unaite to back two developer hackathons set for 2026. The company is also collaborating with Berlin-based Light Art Space (LAS) to sponsor a major art and technology exhibition in 2026, bridging the gap between creative innovation and AI.
With its new offices in Paris and Munich, Anthropic is deepening its commitment to Europe as a key growth region for safe and reliable artificial intelligence. The expansion reflects both the rising demand from enterprises across the continent and the company’s intent to anchor long-term partnerships in research, education, and policy. Anthropic now operates across 12 global cities, including San Francisco, Seattle, New York, and Washington, D.C., positioning itself at the forefront of responsible AI adoption worldwide.
