Anees Health, an Egyptian healthcare startup founded in 2025, has announced the completion of a seed funding round of undisclosed value. The company has already delivered more than 1,000 medical and care services and plans to use the new capital to expand its integrated care model across Greater Cairo. The funding supports its ambition to build operational capacity exceeding 20,000 visits by 2027.
A Unified Care Journey
Anees Health takes full responsibility for the patient experience from the first contact through stabilisation and ongoing follow-up. Its model coordinates doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, diagnostics, and hospital referrals within a single continuous care plan. Co-founder and CEO Dr Mahmoud Darwish said families need one entity that takes responsibility for the full journey instead of leaving them to coordinate care alone.
Clinical Foundation and Target Patients
Geriatric medicine sits at the core of the company's clinical framework, complemented by family medicine to coordinate other specialties and services. The startup serves older adults, people living with chronic diseases, and patients recovering from illness or undergoing rehabilitation. It also offers longevity programmes focused on preserving physical and cognitive function and improving quality of life with age.
Clinical Strategy and Leadership
Co-founder and head of strategy and growth Dr Ahmed Orabi explained that geriatric and longevity care cannot treat medication, movement, nutrition, and cognition as separate needs. The company's strategy is built on viewing each patient as a complete case and understanding how every decision affects the rest of the care plan. This perspective allows Anees Health to scale an integrated model without sacrificing quality.
Technology and Documentation
The team relies on a unified electronic health record developed in-house and built on the global HL7 FHIR standard for health information exchange. The system supports documentation and communication in Arabic and English, which has proven essential for families coordinating care from outside Egypt. Anees Health has provided care for patients from countries across four continents, including Cairo residents and relatives abroad.
Market Context
The company operates amid a steady demographic shift in Egypt. Official data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics indicates the number of people aged sixty and above reached about 9.8 million in 2025, or 9.1 percent of the population, up from 9.3 million in 2024. This growth increases demand for coordinated, long-term care for age-related conditions.
Funding and Strategic Growth
The proceeds will be directed toward expanding geriatric care and care coordination teams, developing operational and clinical infrastructure, and extending coverage within Greater Cairo. The company will also strengthen post-discharge coordination with partner hospitals and deepen its support for patients recovering outside hospital settings. Anees Health aims to maintain a responsible physician for every patient while scaling to more than 20,000 visits in 2027.
Advisor Appointment
Alongside the funding announcement, entrepreneur Ebrahem Anwar has joined the company as a strategic advisor. He brings more than fifteen years of business development experience and has co-founded six companies, leading one of them to an exit. Anees Health stated that his experience will support the company as it builds a sustainable and trust-driven care coordination model.
Anees Health is betting that owning the entire care journey, while more complex than simply connecting service providers, can create stronger patient trust and long-term growth. Its early performance, including the fact that about 70 percent of patients continue extended care plans after their first visit, suggests a promising fit with market needs. As the company scales its clinical teams and infrastructure, it will aim to make coordinated aging and chronic care more accessible across Egypt and beyond.
