Alive App, an AI-powered experience-tech platform based in Bengaluru, announced on September 28, 2026, that it has raised US$1 million in a Seed funding round led by Powerhouse Ventures with participation from Flipkart Ventures. The company had previously secured ₹60 million in Pre-Seed funding led by Powerhouse Ventures. The fresh capital will support product development and the expansion of curated experiences as the startup works to increase leisure activity frequency among urban consumers.

Funding and Strategic Priorities

The company plans to strengthen its product and technology capabilities while accelerating the creation and availability of experiences across its current markets. The investment from Flipkart Ventures also creates opportunities to explore synergies across the broader Flipkart ecosystem for consumer discovery and engagement. Alive App is targeting 3X revenue growth over the next few months and aims to increase the frequency with which users return to its platform.

Platform Expansion and Supply Growth

Alive App currently operates in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Goa, offering more than 500 experiences in categories such as adventure, food, wellness, art, culture, and learning. Its creator network has grown to more than 400 creators and partners. The company added Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi over the last six months, and its experience supply in those cities plus Goa has grown five times faster than during the initial expansion phase.

AI-Led Operating Model

Alive App combines technology with a curated and largely exclusive supply of experiences. The platform works with creators to conceptualize, build, and launch experiences rather than simply aggregating existing listings. The company uses AI not only as a product feature but also across its business to rethink how consumer technology companies can be built, scaled, and operated in India.

Consumer Behavior and Market Momentum

Alive App recorded its first profitable quarter in Bengaluru, its first and largest market. Platform data indicates that more than 90% of bookings are for local experiences, showing that consumers are choosing activities closer to home rather than treating experiences only as part of travel. This reflects a broader shift in India's experience economy from occasional travel-led activity to a more regular part of urban consumption.

Leadership Perspective

Vivek Kumar, Founder and CEO of Alive App, said the rapid adoption of experiences as an upgrade to weekend plans has been the strongest validation for the company. He noted that Mumbai and Chennai are growing faster than Bengaluru did in its early months. Kshitij Golwalkar, General Partner at Powerhouse Ventures, described Alive App as a differentiated and capital-efficient company that uses AI across its operating model.

Competitive Landscape

The experience-tech segment is attracting growing investor attention as urban consumers seek more discovery-led and experiential consumption. Bucketlistt recently raised ₹10.7 million in Pre-Seed funding to build a curated marketplace for verified experiences. Urbanaut offers curated city experiences, events, workshops, culinary pop-ups, wellness, and cultural activities, while experiential travel brand WanderOn raised ₹540 million in Series A funding.

With the new Seed funding, Alive App is shifting its focus from establishing the category in individual cities to building a regular discovery habit among urban consumers. The platform's expanding supply, local booking trends, and early profitability in Bengaluru suggest a strong foundation for future growth. As experience-tech platforms continue to attract investor interest, Alive App aims to become a default weekend companion for urban India.
