Aisel Health, a Copenhagen-based health technology firm, has successfully closed a €1.7 million pre-seed funding round to advance its clinical operating system for psychiatry. The investment was led by Caesar Ventures and will support the company's mission to streamline psychiatric workflows. Aisel Health aims to solve the critical challenge of information retrieval rather than simply accelerating the documentation process for clinicians.

Addressing a Core Challenge in Psychiatry

While many AI tools focus on faster note-taking, Aisel Health argues this creates a new problem of information overload, making it difficult to find relevant patient details. The company's research indicates that psychiatrists spend more time gathering evidence from disparate sources than on writing notes. This inefficiency is a significant factor contributing to long patient waiting lists and clinician burnout across the mental health sector.

The company's platform is designed to convert interview recordings, existing documents, and patient accounts into structured, contextual insights. This system provides clinicians with the necessary information exactly when they need it, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions. Co-founder and CEO Augusta Klingsten Peytz stated that psychiatry needs technology built around its unique realities, combining clinical judgment with technological speed.

Strategic Investment and Market Positioning

The funding round saw participation from Nordic Web Ventures, LifeX, and Angel Invest, alongside returning investors Rockstart and EIFO. Carolin Gabor, Managing Partner at Caesar Ventures, praised the founders' passion for solving one of healthcare's most overlooked problems. This strong investor backing underscores confidence in Aisel Health's vision to deliver a next-generation solution for psychiatric care.

In a mental health technology market projected to exceed $10 billion by 2025, Aisel Health differentiates itself from competitors. While companies like JotPsych and Scribenote focus on AI scribes, Aisel targets the deeper issue of making clinical data accessible and useful. This unique focus on information retrieval, rather than just creation, positions the company to address a fundamental bottleneck in scaling mental health services.

Future Plans and UK Expansion

The newly acquired capital will be instrumental in expanding Aisel Health's clinical and engineering teams to further enhance its platform. This strategic growth is essential for refining the product and scaling operations to meet growing demand. The company is already collaborating with private clinics in Denmark and conducting research with partners like the University of Southern Denmark.

A key objective for the company is its entry into the United Kingdom market, where it is already developing a commercial pipeline with private psychiatry clients. This expansion is a crucial step in its growth strategy ahead of a planned seed funding round. By establishing a presence in the UK, Aisel Health aims to validate its model in a major international healthcare market.

This €1.7 million pre-seed investment marks a significant milestone for Aisel Health as it prepares to redefine technological support for mental healthcare. By focusing on giving clinicians rapid access to comprehensive patient histories, the company is not just creating another tool but an integrated system. The ultimate ambition is to reduce patient waiting times and fundamentally improve the quality and efficiency of psychiatric care.
