London-based data and artificial intelligence consultancy Advancing Analytics has secured a growth investment from Databricks Ventures, the strategic investment arm of Databricks, with IT services investor Tercera also participating in the transaction. The deal makes Advancing Analytics the first UK-headquartered consulting firm to receive backing from Databricks Ventures and strengthens an existing partnership between the two companies. The investment will support the consultancy’s continued expansion, development of proprietary technology, specialist hiring, and broader international growth.

Strengthening the Databricks Partnership

Founded in 2018, Advancing Analytics helps enterprises design, modernize, and operate data and AI platforms built around Databricks technologies, with a particular focus on regulated and data-intensive sectors. The company holds Gold Status within the Databricks Brickbuilder Partner Network and has six Brickbuilder Specializations, positioning it among a relatively small group of consultancies with that level of recognition. Its client base includes large organizations such as Aon, Unilever, Hiscox, Sega, WPP, ASOS, Hershey’s, FIS, and the UK Government.

The new investment is expected to deepen collaboration between Advancing Analytics and Databricks across both engineering and go-to-market initiatives. Areas of focus will include Databricks products such as Genie, the company’s AI coworker, Lakebase, its Postgres database designed for AI applications and agents, and Unity Catalog. The companies will also work more closely on Lakehouse deployments as enterprises move from fragmented legacy data environments toward unified data and AI platforms.

Expanding Proprietary AI Capabilities

Advancing Analytics has built its business around helping customers translate data and AI strategies into operational systems that can be deployed at enterprise scale. Its proprietary LakeForge portfolio includes frameworks and AI agents designed to automate engineering workflows, accelerate data pipeline deployment, and reduce implementation time. The company says these tools can improve traditional engineering speeds by as much as 12 times while helping customers reach production environments more efficiently.

Databricks described the investment as a way to expand access to Advancing Analytics’ technical capabilities as organizations increase spending on modern data architecture and generative AI. Kori O’Brien, senior vice president of partnerships at Databricks, said the consultancy has established a strong record of converting ambitious data and AI plans into working systems that create measurable value. Advancing Analytics CEO Terry McCann said the backing validates the company’s platform, frameworks, and team while providing additional resources to deepen its work across the Databricks ecosystem.

Growing Demand for Data Modernization

The transaction comes as organizations across financial services, insurance, consumer industries, and other sectors continue replacing legacy data warehouses with platforms capable of supporting advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. Databricks has reported a significant increase in AI model deployments, alongside growing enterprise experimentation with generative AI applications. This shift is increasing demand for specialist partners capable of integrating data infrastructure, governance, engineering, and AI systems into production-ready environments.

Advancing Analytics is positioning itself to capture that demand through a combination of consulting services, technical expertise, and proprietary automation tools. Its work spans enterprise Lakehouse architectures, machine learning operations, AI programs, and broader data modernization initiatives, while partnerships with Microsoft and AWS complement its Databricks-focused capabilities. The company currently operates from offices in the United Kingdom, Portugal, and the United States, providing a base for further international expansion.

Broader Investment Support

The Databricks Ventures and Tercera investment follows a recent strategic investment in Advancing Analytics from global growth equity firm Lead Edge Capital. Together, the funding commitments are intended to accelerate development of the company’s frameworks and AI capabilities while supporting recruitment and international market expansion. Advancing Analytics is also expected to increase its investment in technical programs designed to shorten deployment cycles and reduce the operational risk associated with enterprise AI adoption.

The investment strengthens Advancing Analytics’ position within the expanding ecosystem around Databricks and reflects growing investor interest in firms that can help enterprises implement AI at scale. By combining strategic capital from Databricks Ventures, Tercera, and Lead Edge Capital with its existing technical specialization, the consultancy is seeking to expand both its technology portfolio and global reach. The partnership also highlights the increasing importance of implementation expertise as organizations move from experimenting with AI to deploying integrated data and AI systems across core business operations.
