South African software firm Adapt IT has announced the acquisition of ResRequest, a well-established provider of cloud-based central reservation systems for the hospitality sector. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, reflects Adapt IT’s continued focus on expanding its reach within the tourism and leisure industry. This latest addition strengthens the company’s hospitality software division, Micros South Africa, under which ResRequest will now operate.

Building on Momentum in Hospitality

This acquisition follows a recent deal by Omegro, a division of the Volaris Group that includes Adapt IT, which acquired Spa Guru in March 2025. Spa Guru specializes in software solutions for spas and salons, offering tools for appointment scheduling, marketing, billing, and overall business operations. With both ResRequest and Spa Guru now part of Micros South Africa, Adapt IT is assembling a powerful suite of technologies tailored to the unique needs of the hospitality industry.

ResRequest: Two Decades of Innovation

Founded in 2001 and based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, ResRequest brings over 20 years of innovation and experience to the Adapt IT group. The company focuses on experience-driven accommodation operators, such as boutique safari lodges and multi-property eco-resorts. Its flagship products, including ResRequest Enterprise and ResConnect, offer end-to-end solutions that streamline reservations, booking management, and financial operations.

Serving a Niche but Expanding Market

ResRequest’s software is tailored for hospitality businesses with up to 20 rooms, a key segment in Africa’s tourism ecosystem. Currently, thousands of users across 22 countries rely on its integrated systems to manage logistics, improve customer service, and grow revenue. The acquisition enhances Micros South Africa’s ability to serve this high-touch, niche segment of the market with scalable and cloud-based technology.

A Shared Vision for Customer-Centric Growth

Reginald Sibeko, Managing Director of Micros South Africa, described the acquisition as a union of “two highly complementary businesses” with a shared vision of delivering trusted hospitality solutions. He emphasized the potential for collaboration between the companies’ teams, combining ResRequest’s domain expertise with global best practices and technical infrastructure. The integration aims to deliver deeper customer support and more feature-rich experiences to hospitality clients across Africa.

Commitment to Seamless Customer Experiences

Jill Bennett-Howes, CEO of ResRequest, affirmed that the decision to join Adapt IT was driven by alignment in values and vision. She noted that ResRequest’s customers operate in some of the world’s most unique and remote destinations, making reliability and operational efficiency critical. With the support of Adapt IT and the broader Volaris Group, ResRequest plans to accelerate innovation while staying true to its core mission of simplifying complex operations for hospitality providers.

Backed by Global Software Expertise

Adapt IT’s parent company, Volaris Group, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Constellation Software, a Canadian publicly listed technology group. Adapt IT was acquired by Volaris in January 2022 for around $0.39 per share. Being part of a global conglomerate provides Adapt IT and its portfolio companies access to international resources, technical support, and long-term growth strategies.

The acquisition of ResRequest positions Adapt IT to better serve the rapidly evolving hospitality sector across Africa. By consolidating industry-leading platforms under Micros South Africa, the company is creating a comprehensive ecosystem for hospitality software that spans spas, lodges, and travel operators. This strategic move not only enhances Adapt IT’s product portfolio but also reinforces its commitment to supporting tourism businesses with technology built for African markets and beyond.
