Singapore-based technology firm Acrab has officially launched after operating in stealth, announcing it has secured over $350 million in cumulative financing. The company is focused on developing the essential hardware and software infrastructure for the next generation of agentic artificial intelligence. Early and continued support comes from prominent investors, including Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, and Vertex Growth, who have backed the company through key milestones.

The Evolution Towards Agentic AI

Artificial intelligence is advancing beyond its current generative capabilities into a new phase known as agentic AI. This evolution represents a shift from systems that provide answers to systems that can actively perform tasks. Agentic AI understands user context and intent, allowing it to coordinate actions and complete complex objectives on behalf of the user.

This technological leap creates a significant demand for a new type of computing foundation designed for real-time execution. Acrab is positioning itself to meet this need by building the fundamental infrastructure required for this advanced AI. The company's goal is to enable AI that can learn, self-iterate, and become more attuned to the environments it serves.

A Comprehensive Full-Stack Solution

Acrab is developing a complete, full-stack compute architecture to power this new era of intelligent systems. This integrated platform spans from custom AI silicon and local large language model inference to operating systems and agent orchestration technologies. The company has already produced its first-generation compute platform, named GΞLIX, which has been validated in demanding real-world deployment environments.

The company is targeting a wide array of edge AI applications where local processing is critical for performance and privacy. These use cases include personal AI PCs, intelligent home hubs, advanced in-vehicle systems, and sophisticated industrial robotics. Acrab's vision is to deliver future AI experiences that are private-by-design, context-aware, and capable of providing proactive assistance to users.

Visionary Leadership and Investor Confidence

At the helm of Acrab is CEO Dr. Ken Phua, whose extensive experience includes leadership roles at Arm UK and Arm China. He believes the CPU is once again becoming central to the AI era, emphasizing that performance depends on seamless coordination between CPUs and NPUs. This architectural belief forms the core of Acrab's design philosophy for its next-generation intelligent computing platform.

This vision is strongly supported by its investors, with Kee Lock Chua, CEO of Vertex Holdings, expressing deep confidence in the company. He noted that Vertex backed Acrab from its earliest days based on the conviction that AI's future lies at the edge. This confidence has only grown as Acrab successfully translated its thesis into a validated and functional platform.

Strategic Growth and Market Expansion

The substantial capital injection of over $350 million will be strategically deployed to fuel the company's ambitious growth plans. Acrab intends to accelerate the development of its agentic compute platform and deepen its research into next-generation systems. This funding will also be crucial for expanding collaborations with global technology partners and strengthening its international market presence.

With its significant funding, experienced leadership, and a clear technological vision, Acrab is poised to become a key player in the AI infrastructure landscape. The company's focus on building a full-stack foundation for agentic AI at the edge addresses a critical need for more capable and autonomous systems. As Acrab moves forward, its innovations could reshape industries ranging from consumer electronics to industrial automation.
