AblePay Health, a healthcare affordability company headquartered in Allentown, Pennsylvania, announced on October 7, 2026, that it has closed a US$20 million Series A financing round led by F-Prime. A1 Health Ventures and .406 Ventures also participated in the financing, which will support the company's continued growth and technology development. AblePay plans to use the capital to reach more health systems and patients nationwide while expanding its services for both patients and providers.

Rising Out-of-Pocket Costs

According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Americans paid $591 billion out of pocket for healthcare in 2025, an increase of 6% from the prior year. Rising costs make an already complicated healthcare experience even harder for patients to manage. For providers, more of the revenue they have earned depends on the patient's ability and willingness to pay, making the financial experience increasingly important to patient relationships and revenue cycle performance.

A Differentiated Patient Payment Platform

AblePay uses a proprietary technology-enabled platform that integrates with healthcare providers to guarantee non-recourse payment on an accelerated, predictable timeline. Enrolled patients receive flexible payment options with the opportunity to save on their out-of-pocket responsibility and free access to AblePay's Advocacy Team for billing questions or issues. The company states that this approach is redefining what a modern, technology-driven patient financial engagement model can look like.

A Decade of Market Focus

AblePay enters its second decade of growth with a model designed to address a persistent gap in healthcare payments. The company states that only a fraction of out-of-pocket medical costs is served by third-party financing solutions, leaving millions of patients and health systems exposed to an escalating problem. This dynamic creates a substantial market opportunity for technology-enabled patient financial engagement and payment tools.

Executive Perspective

John Fistner, Founder and CEO of AblePay Health, said healthcare affordability affects both sides of the bill. He explained that patients need a better way to manage the cost of care, while providers need a better way to collect revenue they have already earned. He added that AblePay was designed to address those needs, and ten years later that mission still drives the company.

Investor Confidence

Nikhil Marathe, Principal at F-Prime, said AblePay has built a differentiated model that addresses a significant market pain point for both healthcare providers and patients. He noted that the company combines a compelling patient value proposition with meaningful financial and operational benefits for healthcare organizations. F-Prime, A1 Health Ventures, and .406 Ventures are partnering with John and the AblePay team as the company enters its next stage of growth.

Expansion Plans and Technology Roadmap

The investment arrives at a pivotal moment as AblePay broadens its national footprint and strengthens its technology platform capabilities. The company plans to reach more health systems, improve the patient payment experience, and deliver stronger financial outcomes for providers through predictable revenue collection. The financing positions AblePay to continue developing solutions that make healthcare payments simpler, more transparent, and more affordable for patients.

AblePay Health's US$20 million Series A round highlights growing investor interest in technology that addresses healthcare affordability and revenue cycle challenges. The company's model aims to align patient payment flexibility with stronger financial performance for providers while simplifying the payment experience for patients. With new backing from F-Prime, A1 Health Ventures, and .406 Ventures, AblePay is positioned to expand its impact across the U.S. healthcare system.
