TechWings Africa is a 6-month, fully sponsored program designed to support African tech professionals who want to deepen their entrepreneurial skills, gain exposure to real startup environments, or build ventures of their own. Funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and run by Tunga Academy, the initiative focuses on participants based in Kenya and Uganda who are ready to commit to a structured, practical learning and building journey.

Build Now Track – Launch a Startup

  • Intended for tech professionals with:

    • Clear commitment to turn the idea into a registered business
  • Duration:
    • 1-week launch bootcamp (half-day sessions)
    • Followed by 5 months of intensive venture-building support
  • Core components:
    • Launch Bootcamp:
      • Focus on practical startup fundamentals
      • Emphasis on soft skills and immediate application
    • StartHub Coaching:
      • Bi-weekly sessions with a professional coach
      • Accountability, problem-solving, and growth planning
    • Access to Investors & Founders:
      • Exposure to investors and experienced founders
      • Mentorship around scaling and fundraising
  • Expected outcomes:
    • Launch of a registered, revenue-generating early-stage startup
    • Contribution to job creation and the broader African tech ecosystem

Future Founders Track – Prepare for Venture Launch

  • Aimed at tech professionals who:
    • Have an entrepreneurial mindset
    • Need a structured pathway to develop and validate a business idea
  • Duration:
    • 1 month of intensive training
    • Followed by 5 months of personalized mentorship
  • Core components:
    • 1-Month Intensive Program:
      • Cohort-based learning with around 30 peers
      • Focus on early-stage business development steps
    • 5-Month Mentorship via Tunga Academy:
      • One-on-one career and entrepreneurial guidance
      • Support in refining professional direction and venture strategy
  • Expected outcomes:
    • A well-defined business model
    • Customer validation through interviews and field work
    • A ready-to-execute plan for a future tech venture

Mentorship & Support

  • Access to a structured mentorship ecosystem:
    • Mentorship Marketplace (via VC4A):
      • Open to bootcamp graduates

    • One-on-One Mentorship:
