Perk, the AI-native platform recently rebranded from TravelPerk, has launched its Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector. This integration connects its travel and spend management platform with AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. The move aims to eliminate manual tasks by enabling users to access information through simple, natural language commands.

Streamlining Operations with Conversational AI

The MCP connector acts as a bridge between the Perk platform and popular AI tools, creating a seamless user experience. Employees, finance teams, and travel managers can now interact with their company's data without switching applications. This integration provides instant, structured answers to complex queries, significantly reducing time spent on administrative work.

The practical applications are extensive, catering to various roles within an organization. A finance manager can ask, "Show me all flight line items for our Boston cost centre," and receive an immediate, detailed response. An employee can similarly check the status of a trip or a pending expense report within their preferred AI assistant.

Addressing a Growing Demand for Automation

This launch responds to a clear demand from the business community for more sophisticated AI applications. According to a recent Perk survey, nearly one in four companies are already configuring or integrating AI tools into their workflows. This data indicates a rapid shift from basic AI usage to more advanced solutions that drive efficiency.

The same survey revealed that among companies building agentic AI workflows, the top priority for automation is work travel. Perk's new connector directly addresses this need, positioning the company at the forefront of a major industry trend. The findings also showed that only 6% of companies report no AI use, underscoring its widespread adoption.

Pioneering New Capabilities in Spend Management

Perk is setting a new industry standard as the first all-in-one platform to offer access to travel invoices and event management data via MCP. This includes the ability to retrieve line-item breakdowns and download PDF invoices on demand. These unique capabilities differentiate Perk from other platforms in the travel and spend management space.

The integration of Perk Events via MCP provides event managers with unprecedented AI-powered access to their programs. Teams can now query session details, locations, and attendee RSVP status without navigating complex dashboards. This functionality is currently unavailable in any competing MCP connector, solidifying Perk's innovative edge in the market.

A Vision for the Future of Work

Company leadership emphasized the goal is to eliminate "shadow work," the hidden manual tasks that drain productivity. Nikita Miller, Chief Product Officer, stated that the connector removes this friction by meeting teams inside the tools they already use. This approach is central to Perk's strategy of building AI that handles travel guided by company policies.

Looking ahead, Perk plans to expand the connector's capabilities this summer to include travel booking, expense submissions, and managing approval flows. Jean-Christophe Taunay-Bucalo, President and COO, noted this technology empowers employees to focus on their core purpose. The MCP connector is now live and available to all of Perk's 12,000 customers.

The launch of Perk's MCP connector marks a significant milestone in integrating AI into corporate travel and spend management. By providing a direct, conversational link to essential data, the company is empowering businesses to enhance productivity and streamline financial processes. This innovation positions Perk as a key player in shaping a more automated and efficient future for the workplace.
