Vinyl Health, a patient-first healthtech company based in Marlton, New Jersey, has raised US$2 million in Seed funding led by HealthX Ventures. The investment will support the startup's broader public launch and continued development of its personal health assistant. The application is now available in the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.

Addressing a Fragmented Patient Experience

Navigating healthcare is often difficult because information is scattered across portals, printouts, visit summaries, referrals, family text chains, and memory. Vinyl helps people bring that information into one place by recording health visits and voice notes while pulling records from connected providers. The platform uses carefully calibrated AI tools to make sense of what happened and what comes next.

Leadership and Vision

Vinyl was created by Dr. Kaitlan Baston, a national leader in integrated care and former New Jersey health commissioner and hospital CEO. She designed the platform to empower patients to better understand their healthcare and reduce the burden on patients and their loved ones. Dr. Baston often tells patients that she is the consultant and they are the CEO of their own body.

Built for Patients and Providers

Vinyl is built for patients but designed to strengthen the relationship between people and their care teams. By giving patients and families a clearer understanding of their whole health picture and next steps, the platform aims to reduce confusion, improve follow-through, and ease provider inbox burden. With the patient's permission, Vinyl can surface relevant questions and flag time-sensitive opportunities such as therapies or clinical trials.

A Holistic Care Plan

Unlike a tool that simply listens to and summarizes a single visit, Vinyl is designed to see a broader picture of the patient's health records, care plan, and lifestyle needs. This clear plan also makes the provider's job easier by offering relevant history and an integrated view from all specialists in one place. That context helps clinicians connect quickly and make decisions, which builds trust.

Privacy and Data Stewardship

The company brings a privacy-forward approach to consumer health technology. Vinyl's business model is not built around selling people's health data, which gives patients greater confidence that their information remains centered around their own care. This approach is intended to differentiate the platform in a market where data monetization is common.

Investor Confidence

HealthX Ventures led the financing as part of its focus on backing digital health companies that make healthcare more efficient, accessible, and affordable. Mark Bakken, Managing Partner at HealthX Ventures, said Vinyl is addressing a major gap in the patient's ability to record, understand, manage, and share health information. He added that AI documentation lets patients be more present during conversations with their doctor instead of worrying about remembering every detail.

Availability and Future Development

Vinyl Health is now available in Apple's App Store and the Google Play Store. The new funding will support the company's broader public launch and continued development of its personal health assistant. Vinyl aims to be an essential tool for patients in a fractured healthcare landscape and for people helping aging parents manage their care.

Vinyl Health's launch comes at a time when patients and families are seeking clearer ways to manage complex care journeys. By combining ambient AI, health records, and support coordination, the company is positioning itself as a patient-centered resource for better health decisions. Its ability to deliver on privacy, trust, and clinical integration will shape its impact in the digital health market.
