Valsoft Corporation, a Canadian firm specializing in vertical market software, has announced its acquisition of Countfire, a prominent London-based estimation software provider. The deal was completed through TAG Software Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Valsoft, marking a significant expansion of its portfolio. This strategic acquisition aims to leverage Countfire's market-leading position to foster long-term growth and innovation in the sector.

A Strategic Move in Estimation Software

Founded in 2012, Countfire has established itself as a key player with its cloud-based takeoff and estimation platform. The software is purpose-built for estimators across various sectors, including electrical, mechanical, security, and fire safety. Its primary function is to help professionals manage and quote their projects with greater efficiency and accuracy, streamlining critical workflows.

Countfire boasts a significant international footprint, serving more than 800 customers and thousands of users worldwide. Its platform is widely used in the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, Australia, and Canada. This broad and loyal customer base underscores the company's strong market presence and the proven value of its software solution.

Costa Tagalakis, Managing Partner at TAG Software Group, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting Countfire's industry expertise. He noted that the company's mission-critical software has already demonstrated its capacity for expansion across different verticals and geographies. The focus will now be on supporting the team to accelerate this growth trajectory in both existing and new markets.

New Leadership and Future Outlook

A key development in this transition is the appointment of co-founder Aidan Kane as the new Managing Director. Previously serving as the Chief Technology Officer, Kane's deep technical knowledge and understanding of the company's vision will guide Countfire's future. This leadership change signals a commitment to continuity and internal expertise as the company moves forward.

Aidan Kane commented that joining Valsoft and TAG Software Group marks an exciting new chapter for the company. He emphasized that the partnership aligns with Countfire's mission to provide estimators with superior tools and support. Kane expressed confidence that this is the right home for the company, its team, and its dedicated customer base across the globe.

Following the acquisition, Countfire will continue to operate as an autonomous entity, with its team and operations remaining intact. This approach ensures stability for employees and uninterrupted service for its global clientele. The company will preserve its entrepreneurial culture and strong customer focus while benefiting from the new ownership structure and resources.

Synergies and Long-Term Growth

By becoming part of the Valsoft ecosystem, Countfire is poised to benefit from significant strategic advantages. The company will join TAG Software Group, one of Valsoft's decentralized operating entities, gaining access to shared expertise and operational support. This structure is designed to foster innovation and unlock new growth opportunities on a larger scale for the business.

The transaction was facilitated by several key advisory firms, ensuring a smooth and professional process for all parties involved. Valsoft was represented internally by its legal counsel, including David Felicissimo and Oliver Gray, while Fox Williams acted on behalf of Countfire. Vista Point Advisors served as the exclusive financial advisor to Countfire, providing crucial guidance throughout the acquisition.

This acquisition represents a pivotal milestone for Countfire, equipping it with the necessary resources and strategic backing for accelerated global expansion. For Valsoft, the addition of Countfire strengthens its diverse portfolio of mission-critical vertical market software businesses. The partnership is set to deliver enhanced value to estimators worldwide while driving sustained growth for both organizations in the coming years.
