Undecimal Bio, a platform biotechnology company advancing targeted delivery of siRNA therapeutics, has announced an oversubscribed US$18 million Seed financing round. The company, which operates from Cambridge, England, and Tel Aviv, Israel, was spun out from Eleven Therapeutics to address a major constraint in genetic medicine delivery and to expand the reach of RNA interference. The round was co-led by 4BIO Capital and IQ Capital, with participation from Verve Ventures, Harel Tech, Entree Capital, Kerna Ventures, and Saras Capital.

Addressing a Core Delivery Barrier

RNA interference has transformed the treatment of liver-expressed diseases, but reaching tissues beyond the liver remains a key obstacle limiting the broader potential of the modality. Undecimal Bio is working to overcome this challenge through its proprietary DELiveri platform, which focuses on targeted delivery outside the liver. The company describes this issue as the liver trap that has historically constrained siRNA therapeutic development.

Decoding the Deliverome

DELiveri screens massive-scale combinatorial libraries of candidate ligands, converting cells to act as molecular radars that detect productive delivery at single molecule resolution. This high throughput data is analyzed by agentic AI to decode the resulting structure-activity data and identify conjugates capable of carrying siRNA into target cells. By leveraging synthetic biology and large chemical spaces, the platform is designed to decode the deliverome and broaden the reach of RNA medicines.

Renovascular Disease Focus

Undecimal is initially applying the DELiveri platform in renovascular diseases, an area with significant unmet clinical need. Existing therapies for these indications largely manage symptoms rather than the etiological factors that drive disease progression. Targeted siRNA delivery holds the potential to provide durable, target-specific silencing of disease-driving pathways, and this focus provides a clear path to test the platform's ability to reach non-liver tissues in a clinically meaningful way.

Funding, Team Expansion, and Collaborations

The new capital will be used to further develop the DELiveri platform, progress Undecimal's renovascular programs, and enable expansion of the team at its laboratories at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. The board of directors comprises representatives of 4BIO Capital, IQ Capital, and Harel Technologies, together with co-founders Dr. Yaniv Erlich and Shaul Ilan. Verve Ventures joins the board as an observer, and Undecimal has entered several collaborations with big pharma companies that are yet to be disclosed.

Leadership Perspective

Dr. Yaniv Erlich, CEO and Co-Founder of Undecimal Bio, said the hard problem in RNAi was never the silencing, but getting the molecule to the right cell. He added that the in-vivo validated DELiveri platform can screen large chemical spaces at an unprecedented pace, generating data for AI agents to decipher structure-activity relationships and score the best candidates. Erlich also said the company is excited to bring these advances to develop the next generation of siRNA therapeutics for patients.

With an oversubscribed Seed round, in-vivo validated platform data, and undisclosed research collaborations in place, Undecimal Bio is positioned to advance a new class of targeted siRNA therapies. Its focus on renovascular disease represents a strategic effort to demonstrate therapeutic delivery beyond the liver in areas of high unmet need. If successful, the DELiveri platform could broaden the utility of RNA interference across a wider range of diseases and patient populations.
