Abu Dhabi-based technology startup Skipr has successfully secured $2 million in a seed funding round, reaching a notable $10 million valuation. Founded in 2023, the company is developing what it terms an "autonomous trust fabric" designed to facilitate secure interoperability between independent AI systems. This strategic investment will accelerate Skipr's expansion from the Hub71 global tech ecosystem as it scales its sovereign AI infrastructure for national and enterprise clients.

Addressing the Sovereignty Gap in AI

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly autonomous, a significant challenge arises in enabling these systems to communicate and collaborate securely across different organizations, cloud environments, and international borders. Skipr was established to address this critical gap, providing a platform where AI systems can safely interact, coordinate tasks, and exchange value. The core objective is to foster this interoperability while ensuring governments and enterprises maintain absolute sovereign control over their sensitive data and crucial decision-making processes.

A Technological Framework for Trust

At the heart of Skipr's solution is a sophisticated technological framework purpose-built for sovereign-grade applications that demand high levels of security and compliance. The platform leverages cryptographic identity to ensure every AI agent is verified, while policy-driven routing dictates the rules of engagement for all interactions. Furthermore, fully auditable interoperability provides a transparent and traceable record of all communications and transactions, reinforcing trust and accountability across networks.

This combination of technologies creates a secure environment where organizations can confidently connect disparate systems and deploy trusted applications. It ensures that the exchange of data, decisions, and digital assets adheres strictly to both internal governance policies and national regulatory requirements. By providing this foundational layer, Skipr enables a new class of cross-jurisdiction digital services that are both intelligent and secure by design.

Strategic Growth and Industry Collaboration

The fresh capital will be instrumental in fueling Skipr's strategic growth, supporting its expansion from its base in Abu Dhabi and scaling its infrastructure for wider deployment. The company is already engaged in active collaborations with key partners, including telecommunications operators, specialized AI and cybersecurity laboratories, and major data center providers. These partnerships are vital for deploying autonomous, sovereign AI digital services at both a national and large-enterprise scale.

Andreas Hartl, CEO of Skipr Technologies, highlighted the funding's significance, stating it "accelerates our work on what we believe is a foundational layer for the AI era." He emphasized that as AI systems grow more interconnected, secure interoperability under sovereign control is becoming an absolute necessity rather than an option. Hartl affirmed the company's mission is to build the essential trust infrastructure that nations and enterprises need to deploy AI safely and confidently.

Skipr's successful $2 million seed funding round marks a significant milestone, signaling strong investor confidence in its vision for a secure and sovereign AI future. By tackling the complex challenge of AI-to-AI interoperability, the company is positioning itself as a critical enabler for governments and enterprises navigating the complexities of digital transformation. As the world moves toward more interconnected and autonomous systems, Skipr's focus on building a foundational trust fabric will be crucial for the responsible and scalable adoption of AI.
