Alo Hakeem, a Syria-based healthtech startup, has closed a US$165,000 Pre-Seed funding round led by Ebla Ventures. The investment will support the company's technology infrastructure and its transition from a minimum viable product to the official launch of its application in November. Alo Hakeem currently provides home healthcare services in Damascus, Hama, and Aleppo, with plans to reach four additional governorates by the end of 2027.
Funding and Investor Support
Ebla Ventures led the Pre-Seed round, with partner and managing director Ayman Hammoush stating that the decision was based on Alo Hakeem's attention to real healthcare needs and its potential to scale. The US$165,000 investment marks an early institutional vote of confidence in the startup's home healthcare model. The company did not disclose the equity stake or the participation of additional investors in the round.
Early Development and Support Programs
Alo Hakeem was founded in 2025 by Abdullatif Albaroudi and Albaraa Abdulsalam, with Albaroudi serving as co-founder and CEO. The startup initially relied on bootstrapping before joining the ScaleUp 2025 program. It also received mentorship through ChangeMakers, run by Maynger Ventures, and Thimar, an initiative that prepares Syrian startups for investment readiness.
Home Healthcare Services
Alo Hakeem connects patients with home healthcare providers and offers medical consultations, home nursing, physiotherapy, home radiology, and laboratory testing. The platform brings diagnostic and treatment services directly to patients, particularly those who face barriers in reaching traditional medical facilities. Its model aims to combine direct medical care with diagnostic testing in a way that supports safe service delivery and preserves patient dignity.
Geographic Expansion Plans
The startup currently operates in the Syrian governorates of Damascus, Hama, and Aleppo. It plans to expand into four additional governorates by the end of 2027, broadening access to home healthcare services across the country. The expansion will require the company to recruit medical staff, organize service delivery, and ensure that operations can meet demand in the new areas.
Product and Technology Roadmap
During its first year, Alo Hakeem developed its minimum viable product based on market research and direct engagement with patients and healthcare professionals. The new funding will support strengthening its technology infrastructure and completing the final version of its official application. The app is scheduled to launch to the public in November, marking the platform's transition from its MVP stage to a broader service offering.
Leadership and Investor Perspective
CEO Abdullatif Albaroudi said the company focused on understanding user and provider challenges to develop solutions that ensure safe service delivery while preserving patients' dignity. Osman Al-Dawamna, strategic advisor and Syria investment lead at Maynger Ventures, said the firm supported Alo Hakeem from its early stages through ChangeMakers and believes in Syrian entrepreneurs' ability to develop underserved sectors. Ebla Ventures also emphasized the startup's focus on genuine healthcare needs and its scalable business model.
With the Pre-Seed funding in place, Alo Hakeem will focus on executing its expansion plans and launching its application as it works to strengthen home healthcare access in Syria. The company's progress highlights growing investor interest in Syrian healthtech and the potential for technology-enabled care models outside traditional medical facilities. Its ability to manage operational requirements and build medical networks will be central to meeting demand in new governorates by the end of 2027.
