SuperCharger Ventures has launched a €10 million investment fund to support early-stage education technology and Future of Work startups worldwide. Based in Malta, Fund I will focus primarily on pre-seed and seed-stage companies and is expected to invest in as many as 25 businesses. The initiative adds a direct venture capital component to SuperCharger Ventures’ existing accelerator and startup support platform.

Investment Strategy and Fund Structure

The fund plans to provide initial investments of up to €250,000 to selected startups, with follow-on checks ranging from €500,000 to €1.5 million. According to the company, family offices and high-net-worth individuals are backing the vehicle, while 90% of its first-close commitments have already been secured. SuperCharger Ventures said the fund remains open to additional investors, including institutional participants seeking exposure to EdTech and workforce innovation.

Connecting Acceleration With Capital

Fund I will operate alongside the organization’s accelerator model, which offers founders mentorship, investor access, market-entry assistance, and connections to government-backed non-dilutive funding programs. SuperCharger Ventures said the fund will generally target the three to five strongest companies emerging from each accelerator cohort, with investments typically considered after founders complete the program. This structure is intended to create a clearer financing pathway for participating startups while giving external investors greater insight into their progress, market relevance, and leadership readiness.

Growing Startup Demand

Janos Barberis, co-founder and CEO of SuperCharger Ventures, said demand for the Malta program has increased substantially since its launch. Applications have reportedly risen from about 100 startups three years ago to more than 1,000 per cohort, reflecting growing interest among founders seeking to expand into Europe through Malta. Barberis said the new fund would allow the organization to combine capital with the operational support already provided through its accelerator programs.

Malta’s Role in the Fund

The fund was presented during the SuperCharger Summer Festa, an event attended by nearly 100 investors, including venture capital firms and angel investors. SuperCharger Ventures said the participants represented more than €3 billion in assets under management, highlighting the investor network connected to the initiative. Bank of Valletta Fund Services is expected to serve as fund administrator, adding local institutional support to the Malta-based vehicle.

Kenneth Farrugia, CEO of Bank of Valletta, described Malta as an agile and well-connected market that can serve as a gateway for innovation. He said the bank’s role is expanding beyond financing the existing economy toward supporting emerging businesses, new technologies, and collaborative startup initiatives. Farrugia added that partnerships between financial institutions, investors, and entrepreneurs can help transform new ideas into commercially viable opportunities.

Addressing a Growing Market

SuperCharger Ventures is positioning Fund I against rising demand for digital learning, professional training, and workforce reskilling solutions. The company cited projections that the global EdTech market could reach $437.5 billion by 2033, while the EdTech venture capital market could approach $67 billion by 2034. It also referenced World Economic Forum research indicating that 59% of the global workforce may require some form of reskilling by 2030.

SuperCharger Ventures’ Expansion

SuperCharger Ventures describes itself as a global EdTech and Future of Work accelerator with hubs in Malta, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. Since launching its Malta program in 2023, the organization says it has supported more than 200 startups from over 30 countries. Its model combines accelerator services with access to non-dilutive funding opportunities of between €300,000 and €1.5 million per company through Malta Enterprise.

The launch of Fund I marks SuperCharger Ventures’ transition from an accelerator-led platform into a direct investor in companies emerging from its ecosystem. By linking program participation with potential pre-seed, seed, and follow-on financing, the organization aims to address a common funding gap faced by early-stage founders. The fund could also strengthen Malta’s position as a European entry point for international EdTech and Future of Work startups seeking capital, market access, and institutional support.
