Strolll Secures €5 Million in Innovate UK Funding

The UK MedTech also raised fresh investment led by IW Capital for its AR rehabilitation platform

UK MedTech company Strolll has secured a new investment round led by IW Capital, alongside €5 million (£4.3 million) in separate funding from Innovate UK to support the development of its augmented reality-based neurorehabilitation technologies. Cleveland Clinic and Future Planet Capital Regional also participated in the latest investment round, reinforcing institutional backing for the Stafford-based company as it expands its clinical technology portfolio. The announcement follows Strolll’s £10.5 million Series A financing completed in March 2025, which was also led by IW Capital.


New Capital for Neurorehabilitation Technology

Founded in 2018, Strolll develops software-as-a-medical-device technology designed to deliver digital therapeutics through augmented reality glasses for people living with neurological conditions. Its technology is intended to make rehabilitation more engaging and accessible while enabling clinicians to support patients across both clinical and home-based settings. The company is now directing its latest financing toward the development and commercialization of new products focused on clinical assessment and acute rehabilitation.

Innovate UK has awarded Strolll a £3.6 million innovation loan to accelerate development of StrolllAssessment, a platform combining artificial intelligence with a specialized biomechanics laboratory. The project is designed to automate the clinical validation of digital neuromotor assessments while allowing multiple validation studies to be conducted simultaneously. Strolll expects the approach to shorten development timelines for new assessments while providing a scalable framework aligned with clinical and regulatory standards.

Building an AI-Enabled Assessment Platform

As part of the StrolllAssessment project, the company plans to establish a fully equipped biomechanics laboratory at its Stafford headquarters that will replicate real-world rehabilitation environments. The facility will support the validation of multiple digital assessments at the same time, allowing Strolll to collect and analyze clinical movement data more efficiently. Artificial intelligence will then be used to automate parts of the validation process and help determine whether digital neuromotor assessments can provide reliable measures of patient performance.

The company believes the platform could reduce a validation process that has traditionally taken years to complete to a significantly shorter timeframe. Faster validation could allow new clinical assessments to reach healthcare environments more efficiently while maintaining the evidence requirements associated with medical technologies. The project also reflects the growing use of AI within digital health platforms to improve clinical measurement, workflow efficiency, and the scalability of personalized care.

Expanding Rehabilitation Into Acute Care

Strolll has also secured a £700,000 Growth Catalyst Investor Partnerships award from Innovate UK to support the development of StrolllAcute. Combined with more than £1 million in private investor funding, the project will focus on creating a bedside-first augmented reality rehabilitation system for acute and bed-bound patients. The technology is intended to allow rehabilitation to begin earlier in a patient’s recovery without requiring substantial changes to existing hospital workflows or increasing demands on clinical staff.

The acute-care platform expands Strolll’s existing focus beyond rehabilitation delivered in specialist clinics and patients’ homes. By introducing augmented reality tools at the bedside, the company aims to provide patients with opportunities for therapeutic activity during stages of recovery when conventional rehabilitation options may be limited. Strolll is positioning the system as a way for healthcare providers to increase patient engagement while supporting clinicians in delivering rehabilitation across a broader range of care environments.

Continued Investor and Government Support

Chief Executive and co-founder Jorgen Ellis said the latest funding would help Strolll expand access to effective neurorehabilitation and strengthen patient engagement and progression. Innovate UK Chief Investment Officer Scott O’Brien said the organization’s backing reflects both the technical potential of Strolll’s projects and what it sees as a credible path toward commercialization. He also highlighted the combination of innovation loans, grant funding, and private investment as a mechanism for supporting later-stage technology development.

The new financing builds on Strolll’s previous Series A round, which provided £10.5 million in March 2025 to support the company’s growth and product development. Continued backing from IW Capital, alongside participation from Cleveland Clinic, Future Planet Capital Regional, and Innovate UK, gives Strolll additional resources to develop its clinical technology and pursue broader adoption. The funding also underscores investor interest in digital therapeutics that combine artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and clinically validated rehabilitation tools.


Strolll’s latest financing provides the company with capital to advance two distinct products addressing clinical assessment and acute neurorehabilitation. Through StrolllAssessment and StrolllAcute, the company is seeking to apply artificial intelligence and augmented reality to improve how neurological rehabilitation is evaluated, delivered, and accessed. The projects could strengthen Strolll’s position within the expanding digital health market as it moves toward wider clinical deployment of its rehabilitation technology.
