ScribeUp, a Los Angeles-based provider of AI-powered embedded recurring bill management, has closed a US$13 million Series A round to accelerate its expansion across financial institutions. The financing was led by Curql, a credit union-led fintech investment ecosystem, with participation from Mucker Capital and Service Ventures. The raise includes US$10 million in equity financing and a US$3 million venture debt facility, positioning the company to scale its AI-native intelligence and agentic capabilities.
Funding Details
The new capital will be used to advance ScribeUp's investment in AI-native intelligence and agentic execution, making its platform more valuable to both consumers and financial institutions. The company also plans to expand its team and strengthen go-to-market strategies across banks, credit unions, fintechs, and neobanks. Curql, which led the round, operates as a fintech investment ecosystem built by credit unions for credit unions and has partnered with over 50 fintech companies.
Platform Capabilities
ScribeUp embeds directly within digital banking experiences and enables consumers to identify, track, and manage recurring obligations such as subscriptions, rent, utilities, insurance, and loan payments. The technology combines recurring-payment intelligence with banking context, including balances, cash flow, payment timing, and the financial institution's own products. Rather than merely alerting users when a bill is due, the platform helps consumers take meaningful actions across billers and their broader banking relationship.
Agentic Technology and Consumer Actions
The company's next-generation agentic technology allows users to cancel a forgotten subscription, update a payment method, access an advance, or refinance an external loan directly from their banking app. ScribeUp says recurring payments are the most frequent interaction consumers have with their money and the one they understand the least. By resolving bills inside the banking experience, the platform aims to move beyond passive dashboards and strengthen customer relationships.
Investor Perspectives
Nick Evens, President and Chief Executive Officer at Curql, said financial institutions want to make digital banking more useful, proactive, and connected to everyday life. He added that ScribeUp brings AI-powered bill control directly into the banking experience, rather than losing the relationship to third-party consumer apps. Brian Regan, General Partner at Service Ventures, said his conviction came from experiencing the product firsthand and seeing its value for members and credit unions.
Market Context
The company says AI assistants and personal financial management platforms are increasingly using subscription and bill-management pain points as a gateway into consumers' broader financial lives. ScribeUp provides financial institutions with infrastructure to deliver an intelligent, action-oriented experience inside the banks consumers already trust. This approach gives institutions access to context and products that third-party assistants do not have.
About ScribeUp
ScribeUp works with more than 60 banks, credit unions, fintechs, and neobanks and is pre-integrated with major digital banking platforms. Its technology can be deployed through SDK, iframe, or API, enabling institutions to add recurring bill capabilities without building the infrastructure themselves. The platform is designed to deepen engagement, strengthen payment primacy, and help financial institutions play a more active role in their customers' financial lives.
ScribeUp's Series A round reflects increasing demand for embedded, action-oriented bill management tools within trusted banking applications. With the new financing, the company plans to expand its AI capabilities, grow its team, and reach millions more consumers through financial institutions. The investment positions ScribeUp to help banks and credit unions compete with third-party consumer apps by delivering intelligent recurring bill control directly inside their existing digital experiences.
