Warsaw-based deep-tech biotech startup Science4Beauty has raised €1.6 million in a funding round to advance its needle-free aesthetic dermatology platform. The financing was led by 4growth VC, with participation from Hard2beat and several business angels. Founded in 2020 by Magdalena Janczewska, Anna Mazurkiewicz-Pisarek, Alina Mazurkiewicz, and Agata Stefanek, the company develops recombinant conotoxin-based skincare that mimics the effect of sea snail venom on facial muscles.

A Needle-Free Alternative to Aesthetic Injections

The company's flagship product line, Miorelaxant Magic, is built around a proprietary conotoxin inspired by sea snail venom. It is designed to relax facial muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles without needles or injections. Clinical data reported by the company show up to a 48 percent reduction in wrinkle depth, while regular use can extend botulinum toxin results by approximately 60 days.

From Venom to Clinical Skincare

The active molecule is a recombinant conotoxin, a bioengineered peptide that relaxes facial muscles in a way similar to botulinum toxin but without injections. Science4Beauty produces and purifies this peptide in-house, which supports quality control and scalability. This approach positions the company at the intersection of biotechnology, dermatology, and aesthetic medicine.

Commercial Model and Scientific Foundation

Science4Beauty sells through two main channels, serving aesthetic medicine clinics on a B2B basis and individual consumers through direct-to-consumer e-commerce. The company operates its own certified genetic engineering laboratory and holds intellectual property protections across ten jurisdictions. It is classified as a cosmeceutical and biotech business and currently operates at the seed stage with a team of two to ten people.

Investor Perspectives on a Scalable Biotech Platform

Tomasz Pasiewicz, Managing Partner at 4growth VC, said the firm looks for deep-tech health and life sciences companies that combine breakthrough science with effective commercial execution. He noted that Science4Beauty meets these criteria and has the assets needed to become a global player in the smart luxury segment. Konrad Trzyna, Managing Partner at Hard2beat, added that the technology's platform potential and entry into medical-grade skincare combine attractive beauty industry margins with high pharmaceutical barriers.

Planned Use of Funds and International Expansion

The €1.6 million investment will be used to scale production and sales, accelerate research and development on additional bioactive molecules, and support distribution in key international markets. The company is also exploring new applications in hyperhidrosis and dermatological conditions such as rosacea. In addition, its research agenda includes innovative delivery systems like microneedle patches.

A Platform Beyond Skincare

According to CEO Magdalena Janczewska, Science4Beauty is not just a line of finished skincare products but above all a complete and highly scalable biotechnology platform. The company is working on new applications for its technology, with an emphasis on both aesthetic and medical dermatology. She also noted that the business model combines B2B sales to clinics with direct-to-consumer online sales.

Scientific Leadership and Industry Focus

The founding team is supported by Professor Tomasz Ciach, who serves as the company's scientific advisor. Science4Beauty operates a full in-house biotechnology platform that designs, produces, and purifies recombinant proteins and peptides in its certified Category I GMM genetic engineering laboratory. The company's intellectual property is protected across ten jurisdictions and clinically validated for aesthetic use.

With €1.6 million in fresh capital, Science4Beauty is positioned to expand its scientifically validated skincare platform into broader dermatological and aesthetic medicine applications. The company combines a clinically tested needle-free product, proprietary biotechnology capabilities, and a dual sales model to address growing demand for non-invasive cosmetic treatments. Investors see the startup as a scalable deep-tech business capable of competing in the innovative dermatology market.
