Saudi Arabia-based B2B autotech startup Autobia has raised US$12 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Artal Capital, with participation from Aljazira Capital and Wa’ed Ventures, the venture capital arm of Saudi Aramco. Founded in 2021 by Emad Daghreri and Ahmed Alawfi, the company operates a digital marketplace for automotive spare parts alongside embedded financial services.

Funding Round and Investor Participation

The Series A round was led by Artal Capital and included participation from Aljazira Capital and Wa’ed Ventures. Autobia previously secured US$2.5 million in Seed funding in 2023, led by Sadu Capital and supported by Wa’ed Ventures, Raz Holding, Techstars, and a group of angel investors. The fresh capital is intended to accelerate the company’s expansion across Saudi Arabia and strengthen its operational capabilities.

Digital Platform and Embedded Finance

Autobia’s platform connects auto parts retailers and wholesalers with verified suppliers through a managed marketplace. It provides integrated procurement, fulfillment, logistics, and inventory financing solutions within a single technology-driven ecosystem. Businesses can purchase inventory on flexible payment terms and manage end consumer payments through licensed payment and buy now, pay later providers.

The company positions itself at the intersection of an auto parts managed marketplace and B2B embedded financial solutions. This model seeks to address working capital constraints, supplier relationships, and customer payments for automotive aftermarket businesses. By combining marketplace infrastructure with logistics and financial services, Autobia targets both operational and financial needs across the sector.

Market Context and Ripple

The investment highlights growing interest in technology that addresses operational challenges within established industries. Rather than focusing solely on product discovery, Autobia combines marketplace infrastructure with logistics and financial services. This approach has potential implications for suppliers, wholesalers, and retailers by improving procurement and fulfillment while enabling more flexible inventory financing.

Expansion Plans and Strategic Priorities

The funding will support Autobia’s next phase of growth, including wider presence across Saudi Arabia and stronger fulfillment and logistics infrastructure. The company also plans to advance its proprietary dynamic pricing technology and scale its inventory on terms solutions. These priorities align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals for technology, logistics, automotive, and financial services development.

Investor and Founder Perspectives

Wassim Moukahhal, Head of Alternative Investments at Artal Capital, stated that Autobia is addressing a large and underserved market through a differentiated model. He emphasized the combination of technology, operational execution, and embedded financial services as central to the platform’s potential. Artal Capital aims to support the founders’ vision and help establish Autobia as critical automotive after-sales infrastructure.

Co-founder and CEO Emad Daghreri said the company’s ambition goes beyond digitizing auto parts procurement. He explained that Autobia is building technology infrastructure that gives traditional auto parts businesses intelligence, efficiency, and tools to compete and grow. Co-founder and COO Ahmed Alawfi added that expanding access to embedded financial services is a key part of the vision, allowing customers to manage working capital constraints with flexibility.

Autobia’s Series A round reflects investor confidence in technology that modernizes established industrial sectors. By integrating procurement, fulfillment, and financing, the company could improve supply chain efficiency for suppliers, wholesalers, and retailers across Saudi Arabia’s automotive aftermarket. The key signals to watch include how quickly Autobia expands its logistics network, develops inventory financing, and becomes a meaningful part of the country’s automotive infrastructure.
