Addressing a Critical Bottleneck in Quantum Computing
The advancement of superconducting quantum computers faces a significant hurdle related to the electronics required to manage quantum processors. Currently, this hardware operates at room temperature and connects to the quantum processing unit via numerous bulky cables. This setup becomes increasingly complex and power-intensive as the number of qubits grows.
A promising path forward involves moving control hardware closer to the quantum processor inside the same cryogenic environment. However, conventional silicon transistors are not well-suited for this task, as they struggle with performance and generate excess heat. This heat can disrupt the fragile quantum states of the processor, undermining its operation.

S-Transistors offers a novel solution with its superconducting transistor technology, which is already available at wafer scale. These devices are designed to provide high-speed signal control while dissipating minimal power within the cryogenic environment. Funding to Accelerate Development and Production
The €2.6 million pre-seed funding will be instrumental in advancing the company's objectives. S-Transistors plans to allocate the capital toward developing cryogenic signal control prototypes and establishing its own dedicated cryogenic laboratory. The company's initial market entry will focus on a superconducting-transistor-based multiplexer designed for integration with existing cryogenic setups. S-Transistors intends to deliver this multiplexer to its first strategic partners within its first year.
